Study On The Spatial Distribution Characteristics Of Shanxi Merchants' Compound Under The Influence Of Shanxi Merchants' Culture

Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties,Shanxi Merchants wrote a brilliant chapter in the Chinese history of business,and they formed its own unique business cultural connotation.As a form of Shanxi merchants'culture,Shanxi Merchants' Compound has a strong penetrating power to understand the culture.At the same time,Shanxi merchants'culture and Shanxi merchants',Compound influenced each other and showed us the elegance and achievements of that period.In this paper,it focuses on the spatial layout of the Shanxi Merchants' Compound,which is deeply influenced by its culture,and it uses the method of comparative analysis to study some courtyards,such as Qiao's Grand Courtyard,Wang's Grand Courtyard,Chang courtyard,Cao courtyard,Qu courtyard,Lv courtyard in Datong and Shijia garden in Yangquan,etc.By collecting some photos,pictures,texts and legends,this article concludes and classifies the investigation results,then it lists the general characteristics of spatial layout,which are on the base of analyses of the spatial layout character of each courtyard.In addition,the landscape and decoration of Shanxi Merchants'compound under the influence of Shanxi merchants' culture are also introduced.With the special fort structure,the layout of Shanxi Merchants',compound is clearly distinguished between primary and secondary,and is also distinct between inside and outside,which corresponds closely to the traditional culture in the feudal ethics,rank and ritual.By means of understanding the characteristics of compound space layout influenced by Shanxi Merchants'culture,it further explores the cultural roots of the compound and the interaction between spatial layout and the culture.We can discover the connections between the compound and the culture,which plays a very important guiding role in the development of the contemporary architecture and also provides valuable reference for the design of modern architecture.Then,this paper introduces the project of Jiajiazhuang gu street,the design of which I participated in.This project combines the characteristics of spatial layout with the influence of Shanxi Merchants' culture.The overall situation,design ideas and principles,spatial layout and characteristic culture are discussed in detail in the paper.Finally,I summarize the study of this paper and the characteristics of spatial layout of the Shanxi merchants' Compound deeply.We should fully explore the parts of Compound'which worth studying and put them into use in the design.
