| With the continuous popularization of the strategy of "rejuvenating the country through science and education" and the continuous deepening of the reform of various colleges’ enrollment expansion, the cause of our higher education ushered in an overall rapid development period. However, many university buildings have been old for a long time, and the space form and function inside the buildings have some limitations, which cannot meet the new teaching needs.University architecture is the witness of the development of the university and campus civilization. How to meet the functional needs while retaining the historical mark, and re-stimulate the vitality of university architecture space,is a problem worth exploring. In view of this phenomenon, the catalyst theory is introduced into the transformation of university building space,in order to explore more suitable design and transformation strategies to meet the needs of the new era.Firstly, this thesis combs the theory of catalyst and the current situation of university buildings, introduces the theory of catalyst into the interior of the building space, and discusses the role of catalyst in the transformation of university building space.Through the analysis of the two,it summarizes the pertinence, operation mechanism and transformation principle of using catalyst theory to transform the university building space.Based on the analysis of the transformation cases of colleges and universities, this thesis summarizes the spatial structure catalyst elements, spatial function catalyst elements, historical context catalyst elements and multiple design catalyst elements in the architectural environment of colleges and universities, and puts forward the shaping strategies of four types of catalyst elements respectively. Finally, the above strategies are put into practice in the catalytic transformation of Fleeting Book Bar of China University of Mining and Technology, providing new ideas and methods for the transformation of university building space. |
