At present,China is actively promoting the construction of a strong socialist cultural state,and the excavation and dissemination of urban culture is of great significance for enhancing national cultural confidence.With the continuous promotion of urban transportation construction,the status of metro space has been upgraded,attracting people from different regions,professions and ages to converge and communicate in it,making it shoulder a more important responsibility of the times.There is no doubt that the subway,as the most frequent means of transportation for people to travel,how to effectively communicate urban culture in the subway space has become a new topic,which is of great significance to address contemporary urban branding and cultural subway branding.The starting point of the research is based on the "China Cultural Subway Development Report 2021" conference,which proposed the "cultural subway construction as the core of a strong transportation country in the new era".In view of the current rapid development of urban transportation construction,cultural metro construction has become a new hot topic.Therefore,this article takes cultural media as a research perspective and explores the dissemination of urban culture in the metro space with the background of new media art theory,and proposes new directions and ideas.Chapter 1 briefly discusses the necessity of new media art intervention in metro public art,and builds the main content and research framework of this study on the basis of understanding the current situation of domestic and foreign research;Chapter 2 composes the concepts and characteristics of cultural catalytic theory,metro space and metro new media art,classifies metro stations into functions and levels,understands the diversity of metro space,and combines it with the characteristics of new media art.Chapter 3,on the basis of the above theoretical research,conducts case studies and audience research,through which it is concluded that passengers have higher aesthetic demands for subway space,and analyzes the existing problems and development directions of domestic subway space.Through research and analysis of four levels of subway station new media art cases at home and abroad,it is concluded that domestic subway new media art needs to be more flexible in terms of setting location and expression form;Chapter 4 combines theoretical research and case studies,proposes design principles for cultural media art touching on the subway,puts forward corresponding design strategies from four levels: design connotation,expression form,design style and post-operation,and summarizes the design of subway new media art cultural touching on the subway.The design method of subway new media art and cultural media activation: focusing on subway stations,analyzing urban culture,and creating multiple interactive methods to activate the cultural media effect,in which the type of subway stations should determine the urban cultural content,and the level of subway stations should determine the form of new media art to achieve reasonable allocation of resources and improve the efficiency of cultural communication;Chapter 5 shows the design practice with four different levels and types of subway stations in Wuxi.Chapter 5takes four different levels and types of subway stations in Wuxi as an example to demonstrate the possibility of expressing Wuxi culture in the subway space under the intervention of new media art.;Through theoretical research and practical analysis,this paper demonstrates the feasibility and high plasticity of new media art intervention in metro space,and proposes design methods and strategies for new media art in metro based on the theory of cultural catalyst,aiming to propose directions for the creation of new media art in metro space,provide ideas for developing the potential vitality of metro space,and realize the sustainable development of urban economy and culture.
