A Study On The Expression Of Emotions In The Design Of Spatial Transformation Based On Critical Regionalism

In the process of creating architecture,human beings will inevitably incorporate emotions and experiences into the architecture,resulting in the emotional colors will be hidden in the architecture.It can be said that architecture,like human beings,also has the characteristics and expression of emotions.For a developing city,architecture is the foundation of the city and an indispensable existence.In the process of urban development,there is a conflict between new construction and building repairs.So,it is very important to preserve the emotion of old buildings and to perpetuate the emotion of new buildings.Critical regionalism is an architectural and cultural movement that emerged in the 1980 s as a response to the homogenizing effects of globalization,aiming to create a regional atmosphere through the use of local materials in architecture,while respecting the local human environment.The emotions in critical regionalism can be described as a mixture of cultural pride and the preservation of local locality when facing global homogenization.And it is often used to criticize architectures that indiscriminately adopt universal,modernist styles and techniques rather than seeking to create a more detailed and regional architecture rooted in local history,culture and environment.The importance of emotional expression is increasingly being emphasized in the field of contemporary spatial transformation design,which in this paper refers to the process of changing or improving an existing building,usually to meet new demands for use or to improve the efficiency of the building’s use.The loss of emotional elements may cause new buildings to be disconnected from the past,so it is necessary to study the expression of emotions in the process of architectural renovation.Using critical regionalism as a guiding theory,this paper discusses the importance of emotional expression in spatial transformation design and explores strategies for emotional expression in spatial transformation design.The study of the emotional expression of architectural transformation in critical regionalism and the exploration of the emotional meaning of architectural renovation not only preserves and transmits regional culture but also promotes urban development by combining regional elements(sites,culture,and materials).The main text is divided into four chapters: in Chapter 1,the paper explained the concepts of critical regionalism and emotional expression,and discussed the relationship between the three;in Chapter 2,the paper analyzed domestic and international cases of spatial transformation and summarized the excellent features of their emotional expression;in Chapter 3,the paper proposed the conceptual guidance of emotional expression under critical regionalism,the design principles and evaluation criteria of spatial transformation,and design methods for emotional expression;in Chapter 4,the paper discussed the strategies for the expression of emotion in the design of spatial transformation under critical regionalism.The aim of this paper is to provide new ideas and methods for spatial transformation design,through which future spatial transformation design can better understand and express the emotional needs of users,and improve the practical and aesthetic value of spatial transformation design.
