Based On The Concept Of Critical Regionalism Of Vernacular Architecture Transformation Design Research

In the early twentieth century,the global movement of "modernism",which originated in the West,led to the globalization and rapid expansion of the architectural field.For the field of architecture,new architectural design ideas,theories and related architectural design practices were generated accordingly,but at the same time,it also caused a single symbol of architectural design and a lack of regional culture.In this context,this paper introduces the design principles of "critical regionalism" theory in the field of architectural design,and takes a critical and dialectical approach to the problem of how to inherit regional culture and the lack of regional identity in the current vernacular architecture design,hoping to explore the development of vernacular architecture with Chinese characteristics through relevant research.Through this research,we hope to explore new ideas for the development of vernacular architecture with Chinese characteristics.This paper analyzes the theory of critical regionalism and proposes that critical regionalism is a kind of architectural thinking that completes the inheritance of regional culture in the process of continuous self-reflection and criticism;in response to the problem of the lack of regional identity and the gradual stylistic homogenization of vernacular architecture in the context of globalization,it emphasizes the need to seek a balance between the present and the past,innovation and tradition with a critical attitude,and to affirm the modernist architectural heritage.At the same time,it encourages the promotion of local culture and reflects on the expression of traditional culture;through the study of typical cases,the specific expressions and design characteristics of critical regionalism in creative practice are derived and enlighten the design practice of vernacular architecture renovation;finally,based on the previous theoretical summary,the analysis of the influence factors of regionalism in practice cases and the relevant design strategies are proposed,specifically including critical inheritance and development of regional elements,response to The design strategies include critical inheritance and development of regional elements,response to environmental places,etc.,which are verified in the renovation project of Tongmu Mountain Tea Culture Exhibition and Experience Center,and make an attempt for regional design research of vernacular architecture renovation.As an evolving architectural theory,critical regionalism provides a meaningful theoretical reference for the development of vernacular architecture renovation,which can draw on its open and critical vision to treat the differences arising from different regional civilizations and continuously absorb the reasonable and progressive ideas and technical means of the times.We can learn from its open and critical perspective to deal with the differences arising from different regional civilizations,and continuously absorb the reasonable and progressive ideology and technical means of the times to create more excellent works of vernacular architecture renovation,to continue the urban history and promote the excellent traditional culture of China.
