In recent years, with the rapid development of big data,Internet of Things,VR,BIM technology and digitalisation in China, the construction industry has also ushered in an era of "smart manufacturing" under the new technological revolution. With its low cost, short construction period and high quality construction method, the construction industry has truly begun to change from the traditional cast-in-place building "construction" to the "manufacturing" method.BIM-based intelligent building applications are emerging across the country, leading the construction industry to start developing in the direction of "smart manufacturing".However, due to the numerous construction processes and more complex construction techniques and processes in assembled buildings compared to traditional cast-in-place buildings, the assembly of prefabricated components on site requires high precision and involves a variety of trades, making it difficult to control the crossover work between different trades, which leads to increased uncertainty in schedule delays. The low degree of refinement in schedule control of assembled construction projects has led to delays in schedule and failure to deliver on time,a problem that is increasingly attracting great attention in the industry. Therefore, the issue of schedule control is an important issue that needs to be addressed urgently in assembled construction projects. The introduction of BIM technology has made up for the shortcomings of China’s schedule management at this stage, especially in terms of techniques such as on-site construction simulation, collision detection of nodes and information-based schedule management. However, the development of BIM technology in China is relatively late and is still in the exploration and research stage compared with other developed countries, and it is more used in the design stage and not applied to progress management in large quantities, which makes it difficult to give full play to the advantages of BIM technology,so it is necessary to study the progress management based on BIM technology to improve the progress management level of assembled buildings. This paper provides a preliminary understanding of the current situation of schedule management in China’s assembly buildings and the development and application of BIM-related technologies through the study of existing literature.Twenty-five factors influencing the schedule management of assembled buildings were identified, and 16 representative schedule influencing factors under five dimensions were selected based on schedule management theory and the characteristics of assembled buildings.Based on this,an explanatory structure model was established to calculate and determine the correlations between each influencing factor,so as to build an index system of schedule influencing factors for assembly buildings.According to the hierarchical relationships delineated by the calculation results, the analysis method combining hierarchical analysis and entropy value method is used to calculate and rank the comprehensive weights of each influencing factor from both subjective and objective assignments.Six key influencing factors were finally identified.Secondly, based on these six key influencing factors,a demand analysis was conducted on the schedule control of assembled buildings, and a framework for the schedule control system of assembled buildings was built from the demand combined with the domestic innovative BIM-related technology. Finally,a case study was conducted to analyse the application effect from design progress, production progress, transportation and construction progress. It is verified that BIM technology can improve schedule management and reduce the risk of schedule delays. It solves the problem of difficult to realise integrated schedule control in the industrialisation of assembled buildings,in order to optimise the overall project schedule control efficiency and shorten the construction cycle.
