Urban agglomeration has become the main form of Chinese regional integration development and the core carrier of the national strategy of promoting urbanization and implementing the synergetic development of eastern and western regions.As an "urban-regional development model" with global significance,it will lead the multi-polar growth of regional economy.As the key engine and important carrier of urban agglomeration development,the interaction between industry and space will definitely affect the growth and synergetic development of urban agglomeration.The development of Chinese urban agglomerations is uneven and mostly immature.In particular,the cross-provincial administrative regional urban agglomerations,such as the Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration(HCUA),generally confront with problems like the weak synergetic mechanism,different development paths,industrial cooperation difficulties and the supremacy of local interests,which greatly restrict the healthy development of the urban agglomerations.This study is based on the new urbanization development of the country and the strategic orientation of the national territorial spatial planning.The practical demand of expanding new spaces and the development requirement of urban industry transformation and revitalization are taken as research background in the development of HCUA.The synergistic development of industry and space is regarded as the starting point of research.The mechanism of interaction between industry and space system has been excavated in the development of Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration.At the same time,its spatial growth pattern has been revealed.The future spatial growth pattern,practice and planning strategy have been proposed.The research is carried out through the technical route of "theoretical cognition-feature analysis-collaborative measurement-mode selection-realization path".“Theoretical cognition”-The research basis of this paper includes combing and studying the spatial growth,industrial development,correlation between industry and space,measurement technology and methods of urban agglomeration,etc..The classical idea of industry and space is used for references.The basic org anizational model,general characteristics,constraints and promotion factors of spatial growth of urban agglomerations are analyzed from a theoretical level.The formation mechanism and dynamic factors of industrial agglomeration and diffusion are studied.Furthermore,the relationship between industry and space of urban agglomeration is analyzed.Relevant technical methods have been sorted out.It provides theoretical and technical support for the industry and space related research and collaborative development evaluation.“Feature analysis”-The evolution characteristics of space and industry elements of Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration are analyzed from the perspective of shape.It has good support for basic development,but it is still in the stage between embryonic development and rapid development.It belongs to the primary level of urban agglomeration development,which the core cities are in the development stage of agglomeration.The evolution characteristics of spatial and industrial factors are analyzed through a variety of large data.It covers spatial elements such as population size,urban construction land,economic scale,basic public services,transportation links,national regulatory policies,resource utilization and main functional zoning.It covers industrial elements including industrial structure and employment structure,the number of enterprises and dominant industries,the degree of scientific and technological innovation and export-oriented,environmental pollution and governance,etc.It provides basic data and element support for collaborative development measurement,and provides the basis for judging and correcting the "basic outline" for the selection of spatial growth patterns.“Collaborative measurement”-The collaborative development of industry and space of Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration is evaluated according to the system coupling method,which makes the research from "shape" to "essence".The level of collaborative development between HCUA industry and space i s studied.Firstly,through the system coupling mechanism of industry and space,the inherent mechanism of their synergetic development is analyzed.The theoretical model of the synergetic development of industry and space in HCUA has been constructed.Coupled coordination analysis is selected as the basic measurement model.HCUA industry and space synergetic development measurement system is constructed in accordance with the overall idea of "goal leadership-principle orientation-framework guidance-layer by layer improvement".It covers two subsystems of industry and space,eight elements and 26 indicators.It divides HCUA into 105 districts and counties(county-level cities)as research units.From the dual dimensions of space and time,the degree of coupling and coordination between industry and space development is measured,and the level of synergetic development between industry and space in HUCA is calculated.Time series change,spatial differentiation and evolutionary pattern are analyzed.Furt hermore,the reasons for the low level of overall development and the large gap between regional developments have been explored.It provides important theoretical and technical support for the suitability selection of spatial growth pattern,and is also t he key basis for the interpretation of HUCA spatial growth pattern and the analysis of impeding mechanism.“Mode selection”-Following the technical route of "pattern interpretation-mechanism guidance-principle matching-oriented revision",the suitability of Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration spatial growth model is selected.From the dual basis of "shape" and "essence",the suitability selection of HUCA spatial growth model in the space-time range can be predicted.Firstly,according to the chain c ycle process of "state-mechanism-behavior-pattern",its spatial growth pattern is interpreted.Secondly,the impeding mechanism of spatial growth is analyzed as an important basis and direction guide for the selection of spatial growth mode.Thirdly,under the matching of selection principles and the amendment of goal orientation,the spatial growth model of HUCA is proposed,including the dual-core leading of internal superiority and external superiority,the secondary stability of agglomeration combination,the edge cultivation of smart contraction,the axial expansion of zone planning and the zonal management and control of heterogeneous equivalents.Their respective value connotation,spatial elements,spatial structure,spatial growth time series and other aspects of synergy are analyzed.“Realization path”-The implementation and planning strategy of HCUA's spatial growth mode is proposed.According to the choice of spatial growth mode,the lock-in effect of "core-edge" spatial structure is alleviated.The scale effect and synergy ability of "industry-space" are realized.It has solved the problem of endogenous power promoting regional and urban development,and also promoted the exploration of new urbanization paths in different main functional areas.From the perspectives of overall path construction and sub-model growth strategy formulation,the implementation and planning strategies of spatial growth model with scientific basis and operability were put forward.It guarantees the long-term construction of the Harbin-Changchun Urban Agglomeration and the synergetic development of industry and space.The research is supported by two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China,including "Development Strategy and Spatial Performance Evaluation of Central Cities under the Background of Northeast Revitalization" and "Research on Spatial-temporal Evolution Mechanism and Planning Response of Shrinking Cities: A Case Study of Northeast China".It faces the special development period of HCUA space growth and industrial transformation.Through the evaluation of the evolution characteristics of industry and spatial elements and the level of synergetic development between systems,the defects of urban agglomeration spatial growth were found.In the foreseeable space-time range,suitable spatial growth patterns are selected.On the theoretical level,the framework and technical methods supporting the synergetic development of urban agglomeration industry and space are constructed.On the practice level,it improves the scientificity and timeliness of urban agglomeration spatial planning.
