In order to improve the satisfaction of customers’ emotional experience in the dining space,this study proposes the dining space design based on the concept of emotional experience.First of all,the relevant theories of catering space design are summarized,including the definition of catering space,types of catering space,functions of catering space and analysis of the existing problems of Jiangxi cuisine catering space.Secondly,the concept of emotional experience supporting the design is elaborated,including the concept of emotional experience and its connotation and development.The feasibility of this concept for dining space design is discussed from the three levels of design: instinct layer,behavior layer and reflection layer.Thirdly,the three levels of customer emotional experience in catering space correspond to the specific design elements of catering space,and analyze the application of emotional experience concept in catering space design.Finally,to "Jiangxi Cuisine restaurant in Jiujiang" this specific case as a design,according to the dining space design procedures to gradually carry out the design practice.Field research and literature research were used to conduct preliminary investigation and analysis of the project status,including fully mining the location,environment,history and culture.Then questionnaires were used to collect,sort out and analyze the customer’s emotional needs,and design plans were made according to the above research results and analysis.The practical path of emotional experience in dining space design is analyzed one by one from three aspects of the emotional experience level.This study is conducive to promoting the design competitiveness of Jiangxi cuisine catering industry,comprehensively improving the satisfaction of customers’ dining experience,building an emotional bridge between Jiangxi cuisine restaurants and consumers,further satisfying and guiding the material and spiritual needs of the public,and providing a new reference for related theoretical research and design practice.
