As a widely used special equipment,cranes have a high risk of accidents due to their operational complexity.With the continuous upgrading of intelligent cranes,the difficulty of crane operation has also increased.To reduce the occurrence of safety accidents caused by improper operation,the country attaches great importance to crane safety training.Currently,most crane operation training is based on traditional teaching methods,which are costly and have poor results.Virtual reality,as a new generation of technology that can simulate real scenes,provide highly interactive experiences and immersive environments,is widely used in various industries.Based on virtual reality technology,this article builds an intelligent crane virtual reality simulation system,which integrates conventional operational functions and provides users with crane workshop roaming,operation training,accident reconstruction,and training assessment.Using HTC Vive,users can study crane-related operation standards in an immersive simulated environment,which greatly improves worker training effectiveness.Firstly,based on field research on the relevant training processes and industry pain points of Wei Hua and Dong Qi crane factories,combined with relevant crane operation standards and other materials,a virtual reality simulation system for an intelligent bridge crane workshop in Henan was designed and developed by analyzing industry needs,and a reasonable development roadmap was established.Secondly,in the establishment and optimization of the model,in order to restore the real-world usage scenarios of the crane,reverse engineering technology was used to model the crane and the crane factory building.For the denoising problem of the point cloud data in the crane workshop studied in this research,a KD nearest neighbor distance denoising method based on an iterative filtering model was proposed by combining statistical denoising and radius denoising algorithms,which can effectively remove about 75% of the noisy point cloud data.To address issues such as the large number of 3D virtual scene models,poor reuse of interactive models,and slow model loading speed,the levels of detail(LOD)technique was used to construct the geometry model of the lifting equipment and to reconstruct the bridge crane structure organization,thus optimizing the realism and real-time performance of the system.Then,the established models were imported into the Unity platform based on model space transformation and geometric transformation,and the scene was comprehensively optimized.The user interface for the system was developed using the UGUI development system,and features such as three-dimensional scene roaming,cognitive operations,and assessment training for crane equipment were implemented using C# object-oriented language.Based on the My SQL database,user training data and important crane parameter data were stored in real-time.The HTC Vive virtual reality headset was used as the hardware interaction device for virtual reality simulation,and immersive virtual reality experience was achieved using scripts such as VRTK.Finally,the system was published to the Windows system using the Unity platform,and the developed virtual reality simulation system was validated in combination with the existing crane platform.The results showed that the crane virtual reality training system can significantly improve the training sensory experience while reducing training costs,and the experimental results were satisfactory.The development of this crane virtual reality simulation system is not only suitable for related training of intelligent cranes but also the basis for the intelligent crane digital twin workshop platform,which has good development prospects.
