In recent years,traffic accidents occur frequently,leading to a large number of casualties and property losses.How to reduce the losses caused by traffic accidents has become an important research content.As an important part of automobile passive safety system,the airbag can effectively reduce the probability of secondary collision.The posture and time of air bag when it is deployed are different with different folding modes,which will directly affect its protective effect on drivers and passengers.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the folding method of airbag.Based on origami theory,this paper takes the driver’s airbag as the research object and studies the folding method of the driver’s airbag.The main contents are as follows:First of all,based on the method of crease design,referring to the structure of the folding umbrella,the folding umbrella structure crease pattern is designed by topological method.According to the crease pattern of umbrella frame structure,the crease parameters of the driver’s airbag are analyzed through the ratio function of the folding ratio to the total length of the crease,and combined with the dimension requirements of the driver’s airbag and airbag bin studied in this paper,and the crease pattern of the driver’s airbag is designed.Then,by analyzing the crease structure of the driver’s airbag,the constrained equations of the crease rigid structure are determined,and the Jacobian matrix of the equations is obtained.By calculating the null space dimension of the Jacobian matrix,the degree of freedom of the crease structure of the driver’s airbag is obtained.The kinematics model of the driver’s airbag crease structure is established by D-H matrix method.Newton iteration method is used to solve the kinematics model in Matlab software,and the relationship diagram between the input Angle and the output Angle of the driver’s airbag crease structure is obtained.The Angle relationship between the normal vector Angle of each fold surface in the folding process of driver’s airbag crease is analyzed,and the foldability of the crease is verified.Finally,the finite element model of the driver’s airbag is established using LS-Pre Post software,and the air bag is simulated by using the folding mode designed in this paper and two existing folding modes(roll folding and Zig-zag folding).The simulation results show that the driver’s airbag folding method designed in this paper is obviously superior to roll folding and half folding in terms of deployment time and effect.
