China’s economy has achieved good results in the past high growth rate development mode, and the development direction has gradually shifted to high-quality development mode, among which the construction industry,as an important pillar industry supporting China’s GDP,has a significant impact on the national economy. However, with the downturn of real estate market in recent years, the profit margin of construction industry has dropped for five consecutive years, and construction enterprises are facing a series of problems such as digital transformation and industrial structure upgrade, etc.BIM technology,as one of the favorable tools for the construction industry to realize digital transformation, the core of BIM technology is to use digital technology to build a 3D information model consistent with the actual building information through computer 3D simulation, providing a complete and consistent information base of construction projects.Through this platform, all project participants can exchange engineering information and work together, and its value can be reflected in several aspects, such as shortening construction period, saving cost, improving quality, enhancing management efficiency and improving safety. However, due to the characteristics of BIM itself, the benefits brought by BIM cannot be actually quantified, the return on investment cannot be accurately calculated, and enterprises cannot intuitively feel the economic benefits brought by the use of BIM.As a result, many enterprises having only a superficial taste of BIM,and the continuous use of BIM in projects encounters greater resistance. At present, the research on the adoption of BIM technology is mainly focused on the decision-making level of whether to adopt BIM technology, and few researches focus on the implementation stage after the decision-making,and the implementation stage may more affect the continuous use of BIM.Therefore, this paper will study the implementation stage of BIM and analyze the influencing factors of the continuous use of BIM by empirical research method. This paper draws on IDT innovation diffusion theory, and a series of classical theories and models such as SOR,TAM,TOE,TTF,etc.to analyze the influencing factors on the continuous use of BIM in the process of engineering project application, construct a model of influencing factors on the intention to continuously use BIM technology, and analyze the relationship between internal and external influencing factors. In this paper, data were collected by distributing questionnaires online, and gets 310 valid questionnaires after screening 407 questionnaires obtained.Subsequently, the model was validated and analyzed by using multiple linear regression and mediating effects. The results of the study showed that three indicators: the cost of using BIM,the matching degree between BIM and task objectives, and the perceived usefulness of BIM had a positive influence on the intention to use BIM continuously, among which the perceived usefulness of BIM had the most significant influence, accounting for 68.4%.In addition, the perceived usefulness of BIM,as a mediating variable, produces a mediating effect between the cost of using BIM and its intention to continue to use it.Meanwhile, the mediating effect of perceived usefulness of BIM was also influenced between the matching degree of BIM with the target task and its intention to continue using. At the end of the paper, concludes with a summary and generalization of the research, combined with the influence degree of the influencing factors on the intention to continue using, suggestions are made for the continuous diffusion of BIM technology in China’s construction industry, and the contributions of this paper in theory and practice as well as the shortcomings are discussed. |
