The spatial form of villages,to some extent, reflects the local cultural level, living conditions, site features and historical context, and is the spatial carrier of culture. In the process of rapid urbanization, the development and optimization of village spatial form are hindered, the traditional village culture is declining, and the contradiction between the natural environment and the development of village spatial form is becoming more and more serious. The protection and renewal of village spatial form has become the primary task.Miaoxia ancient village is a well-preserved traditional village in southern Hunan. Its complex village spatial form presents distinct fractal characteristics. This typical spatial form has become one of the key factors restricting and guiding the development of traditional village spatial form. Therefore, this paper attempts to introduce the cultural fractal theory into the study of the spatial form of the complex ancient village under the temple for further discussion. This paper mainly studies the spatial pattern, spatial texture and architectural space of Miaoxia ancient village space form, respectively, and the fractal dimension, fractal order and fractal structure of fractal theory, reveals the cultural fractal characteristics of Miaoxia ancient village space form, and extracts the fractal element of Miaoxia ancient village-’ cultural fractal ’ iteration. On this basis, the internal mechanism of fractal element ’ s ’ first radiation ’ and ’ subsequent series’ is fractal, and the quantitative comparative study is carried out with Miaoxia New Village. The connotation of cultural fractal in the spatial form of Miaoxia Ancient Village is summarized, and a new strategy and new path for the protection and renewal of village spatial form after the introduction of cultural fractal theory are constructed.Firstly, through the study of the correlation between ’ fractal dimension ’ and macro-scale spatial pattern, the fractal dimension is calculated to find the self-similarity between spatial pattern and fractal dimension.Combined with the unique geomantic culture concept, the cultural fractal characteristics in spatial pattern are revealed.Secondly,by studying the relationship between ’ fractal order ’ and meso-scale spatial texture, the iterative self-organization characteristics of texture space and the cultural order hidden behind the space are excavated, and the cultural fractal characteristics of spatial texture are revealed.Third, through the study of the relationship between ’ fractal structure ’ and micro-scale architectural space,it reveals the high coupling between village culture and architectural space and the scale-free between internal structure, and reveals the cultural fractal characteristics in architectural space.Fourthly, based on the above research on the cultural fractal characteristics of each scale space form, the fractal element of Miaoxia ancient village – the iteration of cultural fractal is extracted. And in-depth analysis of fractal element ’ s ’ first induced radiation ’ and ’subsequent series ’ internal mechanism. On this basis, through quantitative comparative study with the new village,to explore the connotation of Miaoxia ancient village space form culture fractal. Finally, with the help of cultural fractal, this paper explores the expansion idea of Miaoxia ancient village spatial form, and puts forward the strategies and paths for the protection and renewal of village spatial form, which makes a useful attempt for the introduction of cultural fractal theory into rural construction. In short, the traditional ancient village space form of cultural fractal research to stimulate the villagers iterative self-organizing protection and renewal,so as to realize the positive inheritance and orderly evolution of Miaoxia ancient village space.
