| In recent years,high-speed rail has developed rapidly and gradually become one of the major transportation modes in China, which not only changes the pattern of transportation network but also has an important impact on regional economic activities. With China’s economic development entering a new normal, industrial transformation and modernization have become important strategic goals for China.Productive service industry is an important grip for industrial transformation and upgrading, and is the key to promote high-quality economic growth. With its advantages of punctuality and comfort,high-speed rail has greatly accelerated the flow of people, knowledge and information, which has a profound impact on those productive service industries that focus on efficiency and market demand. Therefore,it is important to study the impact of HSR opening on urban productive service industry to better understand the relationship between HSR and productive service industry as well as to scientifically formulate the construction planning of HSR.Theoretical analysis: This paper analyzes the mechanism of the impact of high-speed rail on productive service industry by sorting out relevant theories.Specifically, this paper takes the improvement of urban accessibility as the starting point and deduces that high-speed railways promote the development of productive service industry by compressing the spatial and temporal distance, optimizing the efficiency of resource allocation and strengthening the location advantage, which is manifested as industrial agglomeration, and there is also a spatial spillover effect of this influence. For the empirical analysis, the impact of HSR on the development of productive service industry is firstly examined by parallel trend test for the selected treatment and control groups, and then a multi-period DID model is constructed to investigate the impact of HSR on the agglomeration of productive service industry;subsequently, the differences in the impact of HSR on different regions and different sub-sectors are explored;finally, the regression results are tested for robustness. In terms of the spatial spillover effect of HSR on the agglomeration of productive service industries, the spatial weight matrix is constructed first, followed by the spatial autocorrelation test,on which the LM test,Robust-LM test,Hausman test and LR test are used to select the model, and then the selected SDM model is used to conduct spatial econometric analysis, and finally the spatial spillover effect of HSR on the productive service industries of cities is The spatial spillover effect of HSR on urban productive service industry is finally decomposed. The main findings are:(1)The opening of high-speed rail can promote the development of urban productive service industry, and this development is manifested as industrial agglomeration.(2)The opening of high-speed rail can accelerate the flow of factors, thus promoting the agglomeration of productive service industries, but the effect of the effect differs slightly for different sub-sectors and different regions. In terms of regions, the agglomeration effect of productive service industries is much higher in the eastern region than in the central and western regions;in terms of industries, the opening of high-speed railway can promote the agglomeration of transportation, storage and postal industries, while it has a negative effect on the agglomeration of information transmission, computer services and software industries and scientific research, technical services and geological exploration industries.(3)There is a spatial spillover effect on the impact of high-speed rail on productive service industries. There is a positive spatial spillover effect on the density of high-speed railway stations, while there is a negative spatial spillover effect on the density of high-speed railway lines. |
