With the increasing influence of entrepreneurs in all walks of life,how to make use of the value of entrepreneurs to stimulate the enthusiasm of employees has become the focus of academic attention.Based on path-goal theory and cognitive appraisal theory,the private enterprises in the southern coastal area as sample source,ascertain the entrepreneurship and the relationship between employees’ work engagement,and uses the hierarchical regression to the empirical analysis of 234 samples data,reveals the cognitive assessment on the dual role of relationship between entrepreneurship and employees’ work engagement mechanism,This paper deeply analyzes the relationship between entrepreneurship and cognitive evaluation on employees’ work engagement among different entrepreneur gender groups.The empirical results show that there is an inverted u-shaped correlation between entrepreneurship and employee job involvement.Challenge assessment partially mediated the inverted u-shaped relationship between entrepreneurship and employees’ work engagement,while threat assessment partially mediated the positive relationship between entrepreneurship and employees’ work engagement.Specifically,at a certain level,entrepreneurship will lead to a strong assessment of challenge,which has a positive impact on employees’ job engagement.However,when the level of entrepreneurship reaches a certain critical value,the assessment level of threat increases,and the assessment level of challenge decreases,and the job involvement is inhibited.In addition,this study also found that compared with female entrepreneurs,male entrepreneurs have a more effective role in promoting job engagement when conveying entrepreneurship.When the entrepreneur is male,there is a positive correlation between entrepreneurship and employees’ work engagement,there is no inhibition effect of high level of entrepreneurship on employee’s job involvement,and employees do not have threat assessment.The study puts forward relevant management suggestions,including:all sectors of society should establish a truly equal gender awareness,fully understand the ability and role of outstanding women,and provide a fair and good cultural atmosphere and working atmosphere for women in the workplace to give full play to their potential;Organizations need to effectively balance the advantages and disadvantages of entrepreneurship and grasp the "degree" of entrepreneurship,so as to reduce the negative impact of entrepreneurship and reduce its inhibition on employees’ work engagement.In addition,the organization can cultivate a positive and harmonious corporate culture atmosphere,improve the importance of individuals,give employees a greater sense of responsibility and mission,arouse employees’ passion for work and desire to challenge;At the same time,the organization can consider to strengthen the training of individual cognitive transformation and emotional management,cultivate the positive attitude of employees,help individuals to be more inclined to have positive perception when facing entrepreneurship,and constantly guide the generation of challenging assessment of employees,so as to promote the generation of employees’ work engagement.
