| In modern times,under the influence of the Westernization Movement,Wuhan’s politics,economy and culture have undergone tremendous changes.After the opening of Wuhan,a large number of Western churches entered Wuhan and preached and ran schools here,accelerating the integration and development of Chinese and Western cultures,and also prompting great changes in Wuhan’s modern education system and educational architecture.Wuhan Mission School is a relatively special type of architecture in the branch of modern architecture in Wuhan.It has witnessed the diversified development of Wuhan’s modern history and also reflects the exchange and collision of Chinese and Western cultures.The special structural form of Wuhan Mission School and the existing precious architectural resources have high research value.At present,some of the remaining modern mission schools in Wuhan are still cultural and educational buildings,but most of them have no religious meaning.In order to continue the architectural culture,the author conducts in-depth research on how to protect,renovate and reuse Wuhan mission schools,and use Hubei traditional Chinese medicine.The College of Liberal Arts of the University serves as an entry point for environmental design.From the perspective of environmental design,this paper studies and analyzes the architecture of modern missionary schools in Wuhan,sorts out the development and evolution of modern missionary school buildings in Wuhan,analyzes the functions of existing missionary school buildings and the status quo of the surrounding environment,and designs a teaching environment that meets the current cultural needs.The thesis starts with the historical development background of mission school buildings,analyzes and sorts out the development history of Wuhan mission schools,the distribution and types of existing mission schools in Wuhan,and compares and summarizes the architectural style characteristics,building materials and structural characteristics of Wuhan mission schools.The article investigates in detail the relic buildings of the famous Wenhua University(now Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine)in modern times,and conducts a targeted architectural space analysis,so as to complete a reasonable architectural restoration and space renovation design.The dissertation is mainly divided into the following six parts:The first part briefly introduces the academic research status of modern church school architecture in Wuhan;The second part summarizes the development background of Wuhan Missionary School,and summarizes the development situation of Wuhan Missionary School in stages;The third part mainly analyzes the distribution of existing church school buildings in Wuhan,and outlines the representative different types of church schools in the three towns of Wuhan;The fourth part summarizes and compares the architectural features of the existing mission schools in Wuhan,and analyzes the main architectural styles and construction elements of the existing mission schools through data collation and investigation and measurement;The fifth part makes a specific analysis and summary of the current situation of Wenhua University,where the design object Faculty of Arts is located,based on the field inspection and surveying and mapping data;The sixth part analyzes the indoor and outdoor environment of the College of Liberal Arts in Yuanyuan Hua University based on the needs of the current campus environment,and creates a historical architectural environment design with cultural connotations and reasonable functions.Through the above six major parts,it analyzes and summarizes the historical development,architectural characteristics and design practice of Wuhan modern church school.Combined with the needs of the current population and modern construction technology,we can better restore and utilize the historical buildings in Wuhan,so that culture can continue in our lives in a more practical way of using architectural space. |
