| With the rapid development of China’s economy,not only is the living environment in cities continuously improving,but people’s need for a better spiritual life has also increased in the new era.Culture is the soul of a city,and commemorative squares are a concentrated display of a city’s history and culture.While enriching public outdoor activities,they can also serve functions such as publicity,display,education,art,celebration,and commemoration.However,during China’s rapid urbanization process,many commemorative squares lack innovation in content,lack variation in form,and lack soul in display.They have not effectively reflected the basic attributes and cultural functions of commemorative squares.Furthermore,in terms of design,there is often an excessive reliance on professional institutions such as designers and planning institutes,ignoring the public’s experience and needs for diverse physical and spiritual activities.This situation not only occurs in urban commercial spaces,residential spaces,and public activity spaces,but also in affiliated green spaces of enterprises,institutions,and university campuses.Higher education plays an important role in cultivating professional talents,and also plays a crucial role in establishing correct values,beliefs,and worldviews in adults.Therefore,it is crucial to analyze the landscape perception of commemorative squares in higher education institutions from the perspective of users’ perception and to propose design optimization strategies for them.The research is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which starts with the research background and conducts an overall analysis at the macro level.It then puts forward the research question and research object and determines the research method through literature review,analyzing the current development status of commemorative squares in China and the theoretical research status of landscape perception.The second chapter focuses on the core concepts and theoretical foundations of this paper,extracts the landscape perception subject,carrier,content,and mode in the commemorative squares of higher education institutions based on domestic and foreign theoretical research achievements.The third chapter studies the existing characteristics of the commemorative squares of the police academy from three dimensions: geographic location,natural environment,and historical culture.The fourth chapter is a follow-up to the third chapter,conducting a site investigation analysis,determining the logical analysis of spatial problems in commemorative squares in higher education institutions from the perspective of landscape perception,designing the questionnaire on users’ perception evaluation of the place,analyzing the specific practical problems of campus historical and cultural landscape,square overall spatial pattern,and landscape service facilities.The fifth chapter proposes overall optimization space sequence strategy,cultural connotation excavation strategy,and landscape service facilities strengthening strategy for commemorative squares in higher education institutions based on theoretical practice and specific problems.The sixth chapter is a specific practical application example of commemorative spaces within the Chanba Campus of the Shaanxi Police College.The seventh chapter is a summary and outlook of the content of this research.The main conclusions of the research are:(1)Analyzing and summarizing the spatial design problems of commemorative squares in higher education institutions through survey analysis.Through mean satisfaction analysis,IPA analysis,and variance analysis,the specific practical problems of campus historical and cultural landscape,square overall spatial pattern,and landscape service facilities in commemorative squares in higher education institutions are summarized.(2)Extracting landscape perception-based design strategies for commemorative squares in higher education institutions and conducting empirical research.Based on the goals and principles of landscape perception in the police academy’s commemorative square landscape construction,optimization space sequence,cultural connotation excavation,and landscape service facilities strengthening strategies are proposed from the perspective of landscape perception.Based on the design strategies and combining the actual problems of the commemorative squares of the Chanba Campus of Shaanxi Police College,specific design drawings for various types of commemorative squares on the campus are produced. |
