As a public institution that undertakes preschool education for children aged 3-6 in the city,kindergartens should receive more attention because their indoor space environment has a direct impact on children’s physical and mental health growth.However,there are many problems in kindergarten interior space design such as lack of tolerance,lack of applicability,lack of children’s participation and so on.Under the circumstance that the country strengthens the construction of child-friendly cities and preschool education receives increasing attention,the purpose of this study is how to truly realize child-friendly indoor space in kindergartens,so that children’s views can be fully expressed,their rights can be effectively protected and their physical and mental development can be healthy.Starting from the concept of "child-friendly",this paper takes 3-6 years old preschool children as the research object and kindergarten interior space design as the research content.First of all,combined with the relevant theories of child-friendly and kindergarten interior space research,it summarizes the principles of participation,universality and development suitability of child-friendly kindergarten interior design.Secondly,by comparing the kindergarten design cases at the forefront of design at home and abroad,the common characteristics and differences between excellent kindergarten design are summarized.Using field research,questionnaire survey and other research methods,8 domestic kindergartens were visited and investigated,and 3 of them were selected for a detailed analysis of their spatial organization and shaping.Combined with the results of questionnaire survey data,the lack of child-friendly perspective in the current interior space design of domestic kindergartens and the causes were analyzed.Then,based on the results of theoretical research and investigation,it puts forward to improve the design procedure to obtain the real needs of children.Optimize space organization and guarantee equal access rights;Attach importance to space shaping,in line with children’s physical and mental characteristics of the design strategy.Finally,taking Xi ’an LAN ’an Kindergarten as an example,combined with the design strategy proposed above,the design practice is carried out from the child-friendly perspective in three aspects: interior space design procedure,space organization and space shaping,in order to prove the feasibility of the implementation of the strategy.This paper introduces the child-friendly perspective into the interior space design of kindergarten,summarizes the design principles of child-friendly kindergarten under the guidance of relevant theories,combines the current situation and causes of the absence of child-friendly perspective of kindergarten,puts forward the interior space design strategy of child-friendly kindergarten,and provides new ideas for the interior design of kindergarten.
