In multi-ethnic areas, ethnic settlements are scattered throughout the villages.Whether in towns or cities, the pattern is one of large mixed communities with small clusters. The various ethnic groups have continued to integrate over the course of history, and the habitat is characterised by a remarkable blend of multi-ethnic cultures. The Bao’an is one of the endemic ethnic groups in Gansu province, and its region is home to not only the Bao’an,but also many different ethnic groups, forming a multiethnic area, which has allowed the Bao’an to come into contact with a variety of different cultures in their daily lives, promoting cultural exchange, interaction and integration between them.In the course of the history of the Bao’an people, the spatial pattern of settlements and architectural techniques were formed according to a variety of factors, including the local natural environment, social structure, economic life, religious beliefs, folk customs and the absorption of other ethnic cultures. In the construction of their settlements, the security people have brought into play their unique national construction wisdom, and their unique social and cultural connotations and construction wisdom have been deeply reflected in the spatial pattern and construction techniques of their settlements. These characteristics have enabled the Bao’an to make a unique contribution to the process of ethnic cultural integration. The security ethnic group has evolved through time and space, making its cultural heritage and development environment one that has evolved along with the cultural identity and acceptance of its common members.During their long history of ethnic development, the Bao’an have extensively interacted, exchanged and intermingled with all the surrounding ethnic groups, and through their integration with them, they have formed a multi-ethnic intermingled spatial pattern of habitation and human landscape. This paper takes Gao Li Village,a typical village of the Bao Bao ethnic group,as an example to study the spatial pattern and cultural landscape in the construction of the landscape in the context of multi-ethnic cultural integration.Through the analysis of the spatial pattern of the settlement based on the natural geographical environment under the macroscope,it is found that the inhabited space of the Gao Li village of the Bao Bao ethnic group is characterised by the cultural inter-embedding of multi-ethnic cohabitation space, showing the characteristics of multi-ethnic cultural interaction, exchange and integration in the Gansu-Qingdao ethnic corridor region. At the same time,a comparative study of the cultural landscape of the Bao’an with that of other neighbouring ethnic groups also points to the spatial coexistence and inclusiveness of the Bao’an’s multi-ethnic cultural landscape, including the Hui,Tibetan and Tu.The analysis of the multi-ethnic cultural fusion characteristics of the Bao’an helps to explore the intergenerational cultural transmission system and cultural development paths of the less populated ethnic groups, and is also an important basis for promoting the harmonious co-existence of multi-ethnic groups.
