As a pillar industry of China’s national economy,manufacturing has driven economic growth and promoted the enhancement of China’s international status.With the industrial revolution and the change of the global industrial competition paradigm,China’s economic development has entered the New Normal,the economic structure has been optimized and upgraded,the trend of global economic service has been accelerating,and China’s traditional manufacturing industry is also facing major adjustments.In this context,the traditional manufacturing industry urgently needs to adjust its internal structure and undergo transformation and upgrading.With the growth of per capita disposable income and the improvement of people’s living standards,consumers’ consumption concepts have changed from focusing on product prices and quality in the past to focusing on services and consumer experience.Therefore,service-oriented manufacturing has become one of the important strategies for the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises.With the development of industry,more and more enterprises are paying attention to the value chain.By studying the components of the value chain,enterprises can gain competitive advantages.With the support of national policies,many manufacturing enterprises have undergone service-oriented transformation.However,due to factors such as enterprise management and research and development,the current level of service-oriented transformation in Chinese manufacturing enterprises is relatively low,and suitable paths need to be further explored.Based on a summary of domestic and foreign research,this article first sorts out the motivations and evolution process of Haier’s smart home service-oriented transformation.Secondly,with the help of value chain theory,smile curve theory,and value co creation theory,this article analyzes the internal and external value chains of Haier Smart Home.From the perspective of the value chain,it sorts out the paths of enterprise service-oriented transformation and analyzes how enterprises achieve service-oriented transformation at different stages.Finally,evaluate the transformation performance of Haier Zhijia from both financial and non-financial perspectives.By analyzing the enterprise value chain,select indicators closely related to service-oriented transformation,and explore the impact of service-oriented transformation on Haier Zhijia’s performance.Through the above research,this article mainly draws the following three conclusions.Firstly,this article summarizes the path of Haier Smart Home’s service-oriented transformation based on value chain theory.In the internal value chain of the enterprise,Haier Smart Home mainly achieves service-oriented transformation by strengthening innovative research and development,achieving intelligent manufacturing,completing organizational changes,opening up new sales models,and expanding logistics services;On the external value chain of the enterprise,Haier Smart Home mainly achieves service-oriented transformation by interacting with suppliers and users,expanding financial services,and creating an Io T ecosystem.Secondly,overall,service-oriented transformation has a positive impact on corporate performance.In terms of finance,service-oriented transformation has improved the profitability and debt paying ability of enterprises,and optimized their operational capabilities in the early stages of transformation;On the non-financial dimension,service-oriented transformation has improved customer satisfaction and brand value,while enterprises have demonstrated good growth capabilities by increasing research and development expenses.Thirdly,in response to the declining trend of Haier Smart Home’s operational capacity in the later stage of transformation,this article provides corresponding suggestions for enterprises.At the same time,by summarizing the service transformation path of Haier Smart Home,suggestions are provided for other manufacturing enterprises.This article adopts the method of case analysis to analyze the path of Haier Zhijia’s service-oriented transformation from the perspective of the value chain,and evaluates performance from both financial and non-financial perspectives.It enriches relevant research on service-oriented transformation in the manufacturing industry and has guiding significance for manufacturing enterprises to carry out service-oriented transformation.
