| Currently, the issue of safe drinking water in rural areas of economically developed regions has been basically resolved, but there are still certain problems in the vast rural areas that are far from cities and remote areas.China has developed a mature project schedule management method for large-scale water conservancy projects, but most of the rural drinking water safety projects in Guizhou Province still use methods such as Gantt charts and progress schedules.Due to unfavorable factors such as many mountains and few plains, abundant rocks and scarce soil, and frequent rainfall but few reservoirs in Guizhou, objective analysis is lacking when preparing project construction schedules.Often, experience is relied upon, resulting in a discrepancy with reality and loose management of project schedules,a lack of solid supervision and control, and frequent delays in project schedules. Therefore,in particular,it is important to study suitable methods for schedule management. The advantage of the critical chain method is precisely targeted at the particularities of Guizhou rural drinking water safety projects, because it not only considers the logical relationships between different project processes but also takes into account other resource constraints. However, currently there is not much research on the application of the critical chain method in small and medium-sized reservoir construction.Based on the characteristics of rural drinking water safety project itself, this article analyzes and studies the current situation and problems of construction schedule management, and finally decides to use the critical chain method as the main research method of this paper, and study and analyze the application of the critical chain method in the construction of rural drinking water safety projects.Subsequently, taking the D Reservoir project in L County,Guizhou as the research object, this paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the problems and their causes in the project,in order to summarize the characteristics of such projects in project management. Therefore,to solve these problems, the critical chain method is now adopted to improve project schedules.Firstly, the construction process of the D Reservoir project was decomposed using WPS,and a project schedule was prepared and a network diagram was drawn to determine the critical chain. Then, the project schedule control objective was achieved by adding buffers on the critical chain and dynamically monitoring the consumption of buffers,in order to ensure the smooth progress of the D Reservoir project. On the one hand,it ensured that the project was completed 98 days ahead of schedule instead of 2 months’ delay;on the other hand,it proposed improvement measures applicable to the construction management methods and techniques of rural drinking water safety projects to provide reference for the subsequent construction of similar projects. This method is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the critical chain method in the schedule management of rural drinking water safety projects, and to provide reference significance for the work of similar construction projects in the future. |
