Research On Planning And Layout For Reconstruction And Expansion Of General Hospital

The general hospital is a special public occasion that provides the medical services and their related activities for the majority of patients.Guangzhou is the city of the capital and economic development center,as well as one of the megacities with a large population in Guangdong Province.In recent years,with the rapid development of social economy,the rapid increase of resident population and the growing aging problem,it becomes more and more prominent problem for the shortage of medical resources in Guangzhou city.As one of the super large general hospitals in Guangzhou city,the number of daily patients in the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital is increasing year by year.However,the number of the available beds in the hospital is far from enough to meet the medical demand,which often lead to delay the best treatment time for some patients because of the difficulty of a bed.Even,it was various problems exposed in the subsequent development of the hospital due to being the general hospital locating the old city with a long history,and together with the weak research basis of the theory and practice of hospital architecture in the early stage,being short of enough forwardlooking and as well as not enough being considered for the characteristics of the dynamic development of hospital buildings.For example,the flow lines of people and vehicles cross,the flow lines of clean water and sewage cross,the hospital entrance is seriously congested,the building layout is loose,and the land utilization rate is low,the overload operation medical activities,have been unable to adapt to people’s medical needs in the new era and the development of modern medical technology.Therefore,it is urgent to rebuild and expand the hospital,so as to meet the medical needs of patients and promote the comprehensive service ability and competitiveness of the hospital.It is a huge and complex systematic project for the reconstruction and expansion of the general hospital,which needs the integration of multiple disciplines including architecture,medicine,hygiene,management and biomedical engineering.Similarly,before doing a good job in the planning and layout of the reconstruction and expansion of general hospitals,the planners and designers are required these capacities with not only a deep understanding of the planning and layout of medical buildings,but also a good grasp of the dynamics and trends of the development of modern medical,thus to undertake the good top-level design and adapt to the development and changes of the Times.At the same time,it is necessary to accomplish these works such as sufficient investigation,observation and statistical analysis of the relevant situation,combining with relevant theoretical knowledge,in order to put forward a scientific and reasonable planning and layout project of the reconstruction and expansion planning before doing the hospital’s reconstruction and expansion planning.It was as for the research object by the largest general hospital in grade A class 3 under Health Commission of Guangzhou Municipality—the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital.The paper was accomplished under the research main line of the raising-finding-solving problems,being combining with the research progress and theories which were related to hospital reconstruction and expansion at home and abroad being.The main body of the paper contained six chapters as follows: Part 1 was mainly introduced the research progress and theoretical review.It would provide theoretical basis for the subsequent research through combing the related research progress and related theories,analyzing the future development trend.Part 2was the current situation analysis of the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital.Firstly,it was analyzed for the development trend of provincial and municipal general hospitals in a macro level.Secondly,it was done by field visiting and surveying to know the location characteristics,surrounding business conditions,the function layout status quo on the two streamlines of pedestrian and car traffic outside and inside the hospital,and the function layout status quo of single buildings.Finally,the existing and status quo problems were combed and found through analysis of the construction scale and the proportion of seven housing of the hospital in comparison with "general hospital construction standards".Part 3 was the analysis part on the necessity and feasibility of reconstruction and expansion for the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital which was demonstrated by analyzing related policies,laws,regulations and standards,so as to provide a reliable guarantee for the subsequent renovation and expansion of the hospital.Part 4 was the overall planning layout design scheme on the reconstruction and expansion of the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital.It was put forward the design ideas of the medical center with “Putting the pieces together” and “One combination,Two wings,Three districts”(Here,the “One combination” is the combination multifunctional general hospital,the “Two wings”means the pedestrian flow lines and the vehicle flow routes,and the “Three districts” refers to the treatment district,the leisure district,and the residential district.)through the analysis of two cases such as the Peking University Shenzhen Hospital and Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital.At the same time,it would provide overall planning guidance for the reconstruction and expansion of the hospital through the overall layout of both the functional zoning and streamline organization which was done according to the building area,construction scale and other relevant technical indicators.Part 5 was the planning layout design scheme on both hospital streamline and functional on the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital.It had solved the questions being found during the research from the contents such as introducing the planning and layout contents of pedestrian and vehicular circulation lines and hospital buildings from three aspects including the requirements,principles and strategies on the planning and layout,and clearly delineating treatment areas,leisure areas and residential areas.Part 6 was the contents including both the design effect and the implementation guarantee of reconstruction and expansion on the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital.This paper was carried out the detailed analysis and research works for the layout of the reconstruction and expansion on the Guangzhou First People’s Hospital,which would be able to provide reference for similar general hospitals being wanted to perform the reconstruction and expansion.
