With the increasingly serious problem of urban aging in my country, urban pension has become one of the core issues of pension business. In recent years, with the rapid development of my country’s social economy, the basic material living standards and educational levels of the urban elderly have generally improved, resulting in higher-level psychological needs. However, there is a certain contradiction between the rapid development model of the city and the increasingly tight land use and the psychological needs of the urban elderly. At present, the demand for elderly care in urban institutions in my country is gradually increasing. However, the current situation of urban elderly care institutions has very limited care for the psychological needs of the elderly.According to the author’s literature research,it is found that there is a lack of perfect theoretical research on the psychological needs of the urban elderly, and the field investigation finds that the care of the multi-level psychological needs of the urban elderly in the space of the elderly care institutions is insufficient. Therefore,in view of the above shortcomings, this research topic deeply explores the multi-level psychological needs of the current urban elderly, and then based on the psychological needs of the urban elderly and proposes space design goals, principles and strategies for urban elderly care institutions, and strives to improve the space of urban elderly care institutions.Psychological care of the elderly. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter of the thesis comprehensively discusses the research background and research status of the subject, lays a good literature foundation for the study of the psychological needs of the urban elderly and the space of urban elderly care institutions, and proposes the research purpose and method, and establishes the overall research framework. The second chapter discusses the psychological needs of the urban elderly in depth.Based on the relevant theories of foreign psychological needs,a research framework for the psychological needs of the urban elderly in three aspects has been established, combined with the characteristics of the urban elderly population and the analysis of the contradiction between the behavioral needs of the elderly and the status quo of urban space,a questionnaire survey has been carried out on the specific psychological needs of the urban elderly in all aspects.,explores and summarizes the different psychological needs of the urban elderly at multiple levels. The third chapter summarizes the status quo of institutional space and draws on foreign experience.Selected elderly care institutions in Guangzhou for field research. The author summarizes the current situation of urban elderly care institutions based on the psychological needs of the elderly through on-site photography and interviews with institutional managers.Drawing on practical experience, the foreign mature design concept corresponding to the current situation is obtained. The fourth chapter proposes the design goals and principles of institutional space.Based on the problem summary and experience reference in Chapter 3,the design goals of the space for the elderly care institutions are proposed and the relevant design principles are derived.According to the different psychological needs of the urban elderly,it is transformed into the corresponding institutional space needs, and relevant cases are analyzed for each demand space. The fifth chapter classifies each demand space and proposes specific design strategies. The research results of this paper hope to improve the theoretical and design research on the space of urban elderly care institutions, provide more care for the psychological needs of the urban elderly, create a better living environment in institutions, and promote happiness in old age.
