Research On The Design Strategy Of Contemporary Township Cultural Center From The Compound Public Space

As a vital public cultural architecture in the development of today’s Chinese townships,the township cultural center is a spatial carrier for local public activities and an important place for enriching the cultural life and leisure and entertainment life of township residents with strong orientation and gathering benefits.In recent years,with the solid national investment in township construction and the transformation of the township economy,most townships are gradually becoming modernized and urbanized,which brings new opportunities and challenges to the construction of township cultural centers in the context of the new era.At the same time,many township cultural centers are being built centrally across the country,not only to meet the growing cultural needs of the people but also to promote the renewal and development of public space in townships.However,along with the rapid incremental expansion,there are inevitably problems such as the poor quality of architectural space and inadequate functional facilities,resulting in lack of vitality of the architectural space of township cultural centers.Based on the above background,the article takes compound public space as the entry point for studying contemporary township cultural centers.Through literature research,field research,case analysis,induction and project practice to explore a set of adaptable design strategies for compound public space in contemporary township cultural centers.The aim is to inject fresh blood into the theoretical research on the compound public space of contemporary township cultural centers,to provide innovative ideas and optimization directions for design practice,and to realize better the compound of architectural space and township public space as well as the compound of various functions of internal space,to enrich the cultural life of residents and improve the vitality of township cultural center architectures.The article is divided into four parts: firstly,it analyzes the background,source,purpose and significance of the research on the compound public space of contemporary township cultural centers,as well as a review of domestic and international literature,defines the relevant concepts and research scope,and clears the research object,research method and research content.Secondly,it compares the theories related to contemporary township cultural centers and compound public space involved in the subject research.On the one hand,it explains the development history and current situation of contemporary township cultural centers,and summarizes the problems that need to solve in contemporary township cultural centers,such as homogenization of architectural style,inadequate functional facilities,incomplete openness,single spatial flow and rigid internal and external interfaces.On the other hand,it analyzes the characteristics and development motives of compound public space,on the basis of which it is concluded that compound public space has the functions of enhancing territorial connection,realizing functional compound,guaranteeing spatial openness,optimizing the organization of flow lines and promoting the blurring of interfaces.Then,based on the fact that the function of compound public space can effectively improve the problems currently existing in contemporary township cultural centers,the link between the two is structured to further explain the necessity of the application of compound public space in township cultural centers.Finally,on the basis of the previous study,the author combines a large number of domestic and foreign engineering practice cases to try to propose corresponding compound public space design strategies for contemporary township cultural centers from six aspects: boundary space,courtyard space,traffic space,roof space,square space and internal space.The author further demonstrates the applicability of the design strategy by combining it with the actual project practice.
