Research On The Application Of Mogao Caves Cultural And Creative Design Based On The Cognitive Characteristics Of School-age Children

Thousands of years ago,cultural exchanges between East and West converged at Mogao Caves in Dunhuang,creating the splendid scenery that is Mogao Caves today.As a model of Chinese culture and art,the Mogao Caves have a unique aesthetic research value.Today,as people pay more attention to the preservation of Mogao’s cultural heritage,the development of the Mogao Grottoes cultural and creative industry is rapidly emerging.In addition,traditional culture education for school-age children is gradually forming a new trend that is attracting attention from all sectors of society.This paper aims to disseminate Mogao cave art,enrich the design of Mogao cave culture,enhance children’s knowledge of Mogao cave culture,promote the inheritance and innovation of Mogao cave culture,refine the audience level of the culture and promote the development of China’s children’s culture and creativity industry.This paper focuses on the use of Mogao Caves murals as applied elements,creative products as carriers,and children’s cognitive characteristics as a guide for children’s creative design.Firstly,we outline the background of this paper and the current situation of related research,and clarify the research purpose,significance and content of this paper.Secondly,we summarize the rich content of the murals and the diverse color system,as well as the impact of the content and color of the Mogao Caves on children’s cognitive development,and on this basis we explain the heritage of Mogao Cave art in the new era.We then introduce the cognitive characteristics of children,summarize the cognitive characteristics of children between the ages of 7 and 11,and briefly analyze domestic and international children’s cultural and creative cases,thus concluding that the cognitive characteristics of school-age children and children’s cultural and creative design are mutually reinforcing.Furthermore,the principles and methods of Mogao Caves design were developed based on the cognitive characteristics of school-aged children.Finally,based on the cognitive characteristics of school-age children and the principles and methods of Mogao Grottoes creative design,the Mogao Grottoes mural elements are reasonably redesigned to give cultural information to a rich and diversified carrier,thereby spreading Mogao Grottoes art and culture,cultivating children’s aesthetic qualities,and thus promoting children’s cognitive development.
