After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the achievements of the construction industry have caught the attention of the world.The achievements have contributed to the rapid development of urban and rural construction and the steady progress of economy and society,too.In recent years,as the country’s economy has shifted from a high-speed growth stage to a medium-to-high-speed development stage,the overall growth of the construction industry has slowed down,coupled with the state’s macro-control policies on environmental protection,safety and quality,the real estate industry,government debt,etc.,resulting in a significant reduction,a rising concentration and a fierce competition of the construction industry.The research object of this thesis,Z Company,was originally a large-scale construction enterprise with a private background,and then in August 2019,it was formally restructured and reorganized by China Nuclear Construction Corporation.After restructuring,Z Company needs to seek new development in the fierce market competition.Under this objective background,the analysis of the company’s development strategy is particularly necessary.Based on Company Z’s internal and external environment and resources,this thesis finds the optimal business development strategy by jointly applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative strategic analysis methods to help Z Company stay ahead of the competition and achieve sustainable growth.Firstly,the thesis analyzes the macro environment and industry environment in which Z Company is located.At this time when the country is implementing urban renewal action and promoting new urbanization construction,it is still a period of opportunity for the development of the construction industry.However,this is also a critical period for construction enterprises to transform and develop.In recent years,as construction projects continue to develop towards large-scale,cross-specialization and comprehensive integration,the market has put forward higher requirements on the comprehensive ability of building construction enterprises.Secondly,the thesis analyzes the internal resources and core competence of Z Company.The thesis starts from Z Company’s internal operations,analyzing the business expansion and financial performance.Then,questionnaires and interviews were conducted with employees,executives of Z Company and the industry experts.The thesis draws out the key influencing factors of Z Company’s operation and development,as well as the most core problems faced by Z Company at present.Then,by using the SWOT matrix to objectively analyze the internal and external influencing factors of Z Company,the thesis initially draws alternative strategic plans.Through the QSPM matrix analysis method,the alternatives are further optimized and sorted to obtain the optimal business development strategy combination.That is: step one,focus on the main construction industry,implement an intensive development strategy,and improve the core qualifications and construction capabilities of the main construction industry;step two,implement a diversified development strategy and create a new business combination of "green mines + new building materials";step three,implement the integrated development strategy and realize the two-wheel-driven coordinated development of "construction business + building materials business".For the implementation of the strategy,management improvement is carried out at the company level and project level to ensure that the business of Z Company can be gradually realized according to the strategic plan.The research significance of this thesis mainly has the following two aspects:first,this thesis has practical significance for Z Company’s own business development;second,this thesis has certain theoretical guiding value for the analysis of the transformation and development of the main business of construction enterprises.
