The Mount Taihang stretch for thousands of miles, with many ancient roads inside,of which eight ancient roads carry the most important military and commercial functions, known as the "Taihang Baxing".These passes were the transportation arteries between the ancient provinces of Shanxi,Hebei, and Henan, and the settlements along the ancient roads were also affected during the long historical evolution.Among the eight passes,Taihang Pass is the second from the south to the north, and it is the closest road between Shanxi and Henan. After entering Shanxi,Taihang Pass gave rise to many secondary ancient roads leading to major towns within the province, and also transmitted the impact of social changes deep into the Taihang Mountains. In order to improve the study of the typical traditional settlement form and ecological adaptability mechanism of the Taihang Ancient Road, this thesis takes the Taihang Extended road "Qinghua Avenue" and the road along its route,Yedi Village,as the research object, and takes the factors affecting the phased development of the settlements as the starting point to conduct in-depth research on the natural environment around the settlements, the development history of the ancient road, and the social environment changes and other factors. The thesis makes a comprehensive analysis of the spatial morphological characteristics of settlements.according to the previous research, the historical evolution process of settlement is inferred, highlighting the phased development of spatial form.In the process of research and investigation, firstly, the surrounding information of the village was determined through the investigation of historical documents, and the spatial structure of the village was felt through in-depth settlement visits and investigations, and the history was sorted out by interviewing the elderly.Secondly, the historical information and existing space of the settlement are integrated to find the trace of the development of the settlements in different periods, and the origin, mutation, peak and transformation of the settlements from the perspective of the development and evolution of the settlements.Thirdly, the paper finally confirms the previous inferences by analyzing the existing spatial structure from four perspectives: spatial pattern, traffic structure, courtyard clusters, and public space. Finally, the paper conducted in-depth research on individual courtyards, sorting out the functions, forms, and spatial characteristics of typical courtyards.Through the investigation and research of Yedi Village, the development process from the founding of the village to the present can be clearly seen.In the long river of history, various factors such as natural environment, ancient road transportation, economic stimulus, belief transformation, feudal culture, and social productivity influence the development of settlements.By combining the influencing factors with their appearance period,it can be found that there will be special influencing factors at specific times, which will lead to phased development of the spatial form of settlements.
