Interpretation Of Duarte's "analysis-generation" Theoretical Framework And Its Influence On The "very Rural" Design Applicatio

Generative design thinking,methods and technologies,as the key to solving a large number of current design problems,have had a profound impact on the development and evolution of contemporary residential buildings.The most direct manifestation is the emergence of researchers in this field and their development in education,research and practice.The continuous accumulation of knowledge and the significant improvement of work efficiency in the process.Portuguese scholar Jose Pinto Duarte,as one of the outstanding representatives,used shape grammar as the main focus of generative design research and residential building design as the main research point in his study,research and teaching process.Objects,and established a theoretical framework of "Analysis and Generation" for a large number of different design problems,which has a certain reference value for related research in the field of architecture in my country.Inspired by this theoretical framework,Studio JY502 of Shandong Jianzhu University put forward the research topic of "Unconventional Village" for a large number of rural residential designs in northern China,and formed a series of related design results mainly in the process of teaching practice.Duarte’s theoretical framework stems from the research results he and his team have gradually accumulated over more than 20 years.Although most of these achievements exist in the form of papers,due to the large number of them scattered in the two language families of English and Portuguese,there are challenges in systematically summarizing them.In order to better evaluate his research work and analyze the positive effect of the "Analysis-Generation"theoretical framework on the "Unconventional Village " research topic,this article takes Duarte’s research history as a clue,combined with his scientific research and teaching achievements to sort out the relevant knowledge points of its "Analysis and Generation" theoretical framework,and evaluate the practical significance of these achievements;select typical works in the"Unconventional Village " series of achievements of Shandong Jianzhu University for targeted interpretation,and further evaluate the "Analysis-Generation"."The theoretical framework is of great value in solving the design research of mass rural houses in China,and then sums up the appropriate design strategies for the research of mass rural houses,which not only provides a reference for the design practice of rural houses in China,which takes into account both "mass and diversity",and further optimize the scientific research and teaching path of the "Unconventional Village " topic.The full text consists of five chapters.The first chapter makes a relevant review of a large number of literature on generative housing design,clarifies the background and significance,and formulates the research framework and technical route.The second chapter sorts out Duarte’s generative design research process based on shape grammar,and expounds the evolution of his method path and theoretical thought in the three stages of enlightenment,formation and development.The third chapter interprets the residential single design cases and residential area planning and design cases led and participated by Duarte.Based on the theoretical framework of "Analysis-Generation",it summarizes three key steps in the research of a large number of residential design-"extraction " "Translation" and "Generation".The fourth chapter selects typical cases of graduation design results in the " Unconventional Village" project of Shandong Jianzhu University to interpret.According to the depth of theoretical application in the design teaching process,two processes based on artificially defined rules and based on computer-aided generation are compared.This thesis analyzes the design generative rules of residential area level and residential individual level,and then summarizes the generative design strategies suitable for the research of a large number of rural houses in my country.The fifth chapter sorts out and summarizes the research process,forms research conclusions from three aspects of theory,method and practice,and reflects and looks forward to the deficiencies in the research.
