Research On Urban Park Landscape Renovation Based On The Eight Perceived Sensory Dimensions Theory

Green spaces and infrastructure offer multiple ways to address the challenges of urban environments and densification,and their functions are gradually shifting from satisfying basic human recreational needs to intrinsic emotional satisfaction.In previous studies,it is more common to assess green spaces from the perspective of experts rather than the public.In this paper,we define the research scope of park landscape through field research,and use a combination of eight perceived sensory dimensions evaluation and SD semantic difference method to analyze the results of public evaluation on the dimensions of landscape quality,landscape design,public’s landscape preference and psychological perception of urban parks,and obtain the representations of eight perceived sensory dimensions experienced by professionals and the public in Jining People’s Park.Based on the quantitative data analysis and evaluation,the results show that(1)the public’s relaxation spirit dominates when performing various activities in Jining People’s Park.(2)Among the eight perceived sensory dimensions,there was no significant correlation between the degree of public perceptual dimensions and public landscape preference(frequency of occurrence of the most preferred places).(3)The SD evaluation results showed that the professional group was influenced by the professional knowledge background and had low overall satisfaction.The non-professional group has a higher mean score for landscape environment than the professional group,and the acceptance level is better overall.Finally,based on the analysis of landscape elements and public perception,the deficiencies and transformation design principles of the low landscape perception of the park study area were summarized,and the eight dimensional areas of Jining People’s Park were designed for landscape transformation by combining the eight perceived sensory dimensions theory and evaluation analysis results.In summary,based on the eight perceived sensory dimensions theory,this paper takes Jining People’s Park as an example and uses questionnaires to find the basis for landscape transformation design from the public’s perspective.Further,the eight perceived sensory dimensions landscape evaluation methodology is used as a guide to explore the research method of park landscape space evaluation based on evidence-based design,which can provide a practical basis for park landscape construction and transformation.
