Innovation is the essence of mechanical design,and innovation requires the support of innovative methods.At present,innovative methods are developing towards the direction of multi method fusion.This paper combines TRIZ functional analysis and extension innovation method to establish the function extension design method,which is used to guide the innovative design practice of the speed increase control valve.The specific work is as follows:(1)The primitive model of extension innovation method is used to express the process of functional analysis,that is,component analysis is described by matter element,interaction analysis is described by relation element,and functional relationship is described by event element.Through the extension description of functional analysis,the extension of the three elements based on the primitive facilitates the further development of functional analysis.(2)We have constructed a functional extension design method,which includes four steps:problem identification,problem analysis,problem solving,and evaluation.Firstly,functional extension describes the problem of identifying system functions;Secondly,use the relevant network method to analyze the functional issues of the system,and establish a relevant network model for the functional carriers or receptors of the problem,mining the directly or indirectly related elements of the problem function,expanding the creative ideas of the elements in the relationship network,and obtaining different creative pathways;Furthermore,using extension transformations and their computational methods to transform different creative pathways and generate a creative set;Finally,the optimal solution is selected through evaluation methods.(3)An innovative design of the speed control valve based on functional extension design method was carried out.In the design of the system,the system is based on the process of functional extension design method and follows the corresponding steps to design the speed increasing valve.Using this innovative method to obtain seven different valve schemes is more efficient than a single theoretical design method,providing more optimal solutions and improving the applicability of the functional extension design method.
