In recent years, the urban ecological problems caused by urbanization have become more and more serious, and the urban green space system has been damaged less and less. However, with the concept of pocket park gradually entering people’s vision, its small, convenient and serving people began to be respected by Chinese people. The urban pocket park can help the city develop in a small-scale and gradual sustainable way.In addition,it releases the stress of outdoor public green space in the city, which has important practical significance. At present, the construction of urban pocket parks in China has spread to major cities. However,it started late, and the corresponding academic research and practical experience are also very limited. At present, the urban pocket parks in China are confronted with various problems, such as upfront planning, practical construction, management, and maintenance. This makes it particularly urgent to investigate and evaluate the use of urban pocket parks. As a feedback mechanism of design, post occupancy evaluation(POE)broadens the original design thinking and helps to improve the design quality. As a result, this paper focuses on the use and design of pocket parks based on post occupancy evaluation(POE)and relevant theories.Taking urban pocket park as an example, this paper makes a field investigation in Yuzhong Garden,Huangshan City, obtains and analyzes the site use investigation data and relevant information, from improving urban greening conditions From the perspective of meeting people’s daily experience needs for urban green space and outdoor activities, this paper tries to analyze the limitation and shortcomings of urban pocket parks existing, discusses the design, and gives relevant optimization strategies for the future research and design.
