Ancient city culture is the mark of urban development and is the epitome of social customs and lifestyles during a certain period of time.In recent years, the process of urbanization has accelerated, which has led to the "cultural desert" in some cities. The normal state of the pursuit of high-rise buildings has been becoming the past.More and more people realize that the cultural characteristics of the ancient city’s architectural culture are the spiritual wealth and historical heritage of a city.Construction, transformation, and protection of the ancient city are also flourishing. However, when the reconstruction of the ancient city is under action, series of problems are inevitable, like it’s difficult to recover the cost in short days if the investment is huge and it’s also difficult to protect the ancient buildings. How to reduce the risk of projects in the process of reconstruction of the ancient city and how to ensure the normal implementation of the project become the difficult and pain point of the reconstruction of the ancient city.Only by identifying and reasonable avoiding the risks of the reconstruction of the ancient city project, the reconstruction project can be carried out smoothly. This article takes project risk management related theories as the theoretical basis, and the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project as the research object.Through investigating relevant experts participating in the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project, identifying the risk factors of the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project, and using the hierarchical analysis method to evaluate and analyze the risk of reconstruction projects,so as to reduce the project risk and to enlarge the value of the project construction. The research significance of this article is mainly three points: First, because the ancient city reconstruction project has the attributes of cultural relics, its risk is greater than that of ordinary reconstruction projects.Second,to study the risk of Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project can lower the risk of this project.Third,to study the risk of the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project can provide reference models and experiences and suggestions for other ancient city reconstruction projects. This article is divided into the following parts:Part 1: mainly introduces the theory of risk management of engineering projects, including risk recognition, risk assessment, and risk response. At the same time, the risk type and characteristics of the ancient city reconstruction project were introduced.Part 2: carefully analyzes the specific situation of the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project, and uses an expert survey to conduct risk source identification of the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project, and identifies the main risk sources of the Wuhu ancient city from planning, construction, operation etc.Part 3: according to the identification of the risk source of the Wuhu ancient city, the risk evaluation model of the Wuhu Ancient City Reconstruction Project was built,so as to obtain the first risk level of fiscal risk and construction risk of this project, and to obtain the second risk level from 12 aspects like cultural insurance risks, engineering progress risk. Also their weight was determined one by one. Then,a survey of the risk of the Wuhu ancient city risk is obtained through a questionnaire investigating the project participants, and finally evaluates the risk level of the Wuhu ancient city based on the results.Part 4: for the existing various risk factors, corresponding specific, effective risk management and control measures are carried out according to risk management andcontrol strategies, including risk transfer, mitigation, retention and prevention.
