Pedigrees Study Of Log Cabin In Northwest Of Yunnan Based On Construction Technology Survey

Log cabin has been relatively marginalized in the study of vernacular architecture for a long time.This kind of basic and primitive architectural form is active in the southwest of China,and is quite different from its obvious structural form,under the influence of complex historical background and humanistic environment,Log cabin has formed various architectural forms.As an important part of the vernacular architecture in northwest Yunnan,Log cabin not only enriches the architectural diversity of the ethnic community,but also plays an important role in the evolution of vernacular architecture in this area.Previous studies of this kind of "unorthodox" Log cabin usually focus on case studies,sample studies,or relatively isolated to explore the relationship between local/ethnic groups.How to explore the diversity of Log cabin and the relationship between Log cabin and other regions/ethnic groups under the background of complex environment is the key and difficult point.This paper takes the Log cabin of different areas/ethnic groups in northwest Yunnan as the research object,through the investigation of construction techniques as the breakthrough point,in the Log cabin of various forms and dynamic development,the diversity and characteristic practices in different dimensions are summarized and sorted out as the basis of pedigree construction.On the basis of a wide range of research,this paper,taking the construction process as a clue,combs the construction technology into different dimensions such as structure and technology,function and space,ceremony and symbol.Through combing and comparing the lexical features of technology,space,symbol and other dimensions,the generation mechanism behind their diversity is explored.On the basis of this,the author further analyzes the "prototype" of Log cabin and the practice and logical summary of the outward growth and evolution of the "prototype",and finally through the three dimensions of technology,space and symbol,the paper sums up the architectural pedigree of Log cabin in the northwest of Yunnan province by combing the ways and combinations of different levels of vocabulary.
