Researches On The Morphology Of Old Industrial Residential Area Under The Background Of Urban Regeneration In West Of Zhengzhou

Urban regeneration is the main task that a country faces when its level of urbanization enters a certain stage of development.With the rapid urbanization process,China’s urbanization rate has reached 63.89%,and the " the 14 th Five-Year Plan " clearly states that it is necessary to implement urban regeneration actions,promote urban ecological restoration and functional improvement projects.Urban regeneration has become an inevitable choice for high quality urban development.Old industrial residential area generally refers to the residential facilities of industrial enterprises in the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.Because of their early construction,there are some problems such as material decline and incomplete facilities.It’s an important part of the renewal of old settlements.In the past renewal practice,due to the lack of deep cognition of the morphology about the old industrial settlement,its overall morphological pattern has been damaged in different degrees during the renewal.The old industrial residential area is in the process of urban regeneration at present.This paper took Conzenian School of urban morphology as the main theoretical tool and the old industrial residential area in the west of Zhengzhou as the research object,which is used to analyze the cognition of its morphogenesis process and characteristics in urban regeneration.It will help to discuss its morphological management and provide sufficient basis and strategies for its morphological renewal.This thesis is divided into five chapters.The first and second chapters build the concept of "morphological renewal" of old residential,explain its connotation and analyze its approach based on the theory and method of Conzenian School of urban morphology and Form based code.It provides a research framework for this paper.The third chapter comprehensively describes and analyzes the plan pattern,land use,and building fabric of the old industrial area in the two stages of growth and evolution using the method of Conzen’s urban morphology,then divides the morphology region.The fourth chapter describes and analyzes the characteristics of the morphological elements of the research object in different models of urban regeneration,and establishes the multiple goals of the old industrial residential area morphology in the renewal,which can help to examine the problems existing in the morphological renewal of the research area.Finally,it analyzes the cause of the problems.The fifth chapter combines the research of urban morphology and the method of Form based code to explore the morphological management of old industrial residential area in urban regeneration,and takes the old industrial residential area in western Zhengzhou as an example to make the form-based codes as a preliminary attempt.By paying attention to the morphological changes of old industrial settlements from the time scale,We tried to establish a morphological research framework of "from morphological cognition to morphological renewal",and we expected to provide a scientific and operational method for the renewal of Zhengzhou’s old industrial residential area morphology in the future urban regeneration through the research.
