This paper is based on the project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China(Project Name: Research on VDT Office Light Environment Based on Physique Adaptability,No.51778081).At present,the use of the Visual Display Terminal in the workplace is becoming more and more common,and the activities that rely on the computers are growing.The working mode of VDT has become the most representative phenomenon in modern enterprises.The occupational health problems of VDT operators are currently the focus of society.Compared to non-VDT operations,VDT operations are more likely to induce visual exhaustion and psychological fatigue on the part of the staff and then impair work performance.Therefore,it is significant to explore the office light environment that is beneficial to the visual efficacy and work performance of VDT operators.Employees in Architectural Surveys and Design Institute work with VDT continuously for a long time and with a high intensity every day.Their video display terminal images often switch back and forth between negative contrast and positive contrast,such as Word and Auto CAD.In addition,thinking and computer drawing are carried out at the same time.The mental work of designers is heavier than that of simple tasks such as VDT text editing,and the nervous system is more nervous,which requires special attention.This study focuses on the light environment of the VDT drawing room in the Architectural Survey and Design Institute.The light environment index studied is light distribution,which can be changed by changing the lighting mode.The light distribution is quantified by measuring the luminance distribution.(1)Theoretical research: This part starts with the lighting standard,VDT office lighting mode and light distribution theory by performing literature reviews both domestic and international.After an in-depth study of the lighting design of the VDT office,it is identified that the TAL lighting mode has the advantages of satisfying the preference of the personal lighting environment and saving energy in the VDT open office.In the sense of the problem that it is easy to make the room appear dark,it is found that the feasible measure is to illuminate the wall to improve the visibility of the space,which provides theoretical support for further study.(2)Investigation and research: following a questionnaire survey of young VDT operators in Chinese Architectural Surveys and Design Institutes,it is found that the VDT working strength of young designers after ’90’ and ’00’ is too high,which is a group that needs more attention,and it refines the research objects for subsequent research.In addition,the findings of the study indicate that TAL lighting mode is adopted by young designers,showing the practical significance of the research.(3)Laboratory simulation experiment: this section consists of two laboratory simulation experiments: one is the preference selection experiment with luminance distribution,another is the luminance distribution contrast measurement experiment.Two studies have shown that:①:Young designers are generally satisfied with the working light environment with low average light distribution.The specific light environment parameters are as follows.Under the positive contrast display interface,the screen luminance is about0.35cd/m~2,the center area of horizontal desktop luminance is about 39 cd/m~2,the edge area of horizontal desktop luminance is about 40cd/m~2,and the background wall luminance is about 26cd/m~2.When a higher level of desktop luminance is needed for paper reading and other operations,young designers tend to only increase the luminance of the central area of the desktop,but do not like the whole space brightening.Therefore,constant high brightness level should be avoided in the artificial lighting design of VDT open drawing room in the future.②:The uniformity of desktop luminance does not seem to affect young designers’ satisfaction evaluation of VDT operation light environment.From subjective satisfaction,visual efficacy and work performance,it has no practical significance to pursue uniform luminance distribution of horizontal desktop,which shows the energy-saving potential of VDT drawing room.③:Color temperature does not seem to affect the subjective preference of luminance distribution of VDT operators.Young designers generally do not adapt to the overall bright light environment.This phenomenon has the same trend under positive contrast and negative contrast display interface.Therefore,it is suggested that TAL lighting mode should be used in the artificial lighting design of VDT open drawing room.General lighting provides a lower average luminance level around the work and the background area.When there is a need for high-luminance work,turn on local lighting to supplement the light in the work center area.Finally,the research findings of the above three sections are outlined and evaluated and possible research work is being discussed in order to provide fresh concepts for the design of the VDT drawing room lighting environment and provide a guide for the design of general/local mixed lighting.
