Research On The Impact Of Air Transport On The High Quality Development Of Regional Economy

Under the opportunity of economic globalization,air transportation is no longer a pure means of transportation,but also provides an excellent opportunity and channel for regional economy to integrate into the global economy.According to the study,a civil aviation investment can get eight times the national economic return.Once an airport is built in a city or region,it will not only promote local development,but also build an export-oriented economy and balance regional development.At present,China has transformed from the stage of rapid economic development to the stage of high-quality economic development.The relationship between air transportation and high-quality development of regional economic has not been studied.The purpose of this study is to fill the research gap of air transportation and regional economic high-quality development through theoretical analysis and empirical research,and to provide reference for economic planning and management builders.It first sorts out the relevant literature and theory of air transportation,economic growth and high-quality economic development,and analyzes the status quo of air transportation and high-quality economy development in China.Based on the connotation,requirements and evaluation criteria of high-quality development of regional economy,the comprehensive evaluation index system of high-quality development of regional economy is established.Then,based on relevant theories and foundations,it analyzes the influence mechanism of air transportation on high quality development of regional economic.Air transport has a global network and a platform for gathering high-end resources,which enable the city where the airport is located to improve its external connectivity,promote the aggregation of high-end industries and facilitate investment and trade,thus promoting regional innovation,coordination,green,open and shared development and promoting high-quality development of regional economy.Finally,based on 31 years’ panel data of 30 Chinese provinces from2008 to 2019,it empirically demonstrates the impact of air transport on high-quality development of regional economic through a fixed-effect model,and discusses regional differences.The results show that: at the national level,the impact of air transportation on regional economic high-quality development is positive and significant.Secondly,the impact of air transportation on regional economic high-quality development has spatial differences.The development of air transportation in the eastern and central regions has a positive and significant influence on the high-quality development of regional economy,while the influence of air transportation in the western regions is not significant.This is mainly because the development of air transportation in western China and the high-quality development of regional economy are weak,and the impact of air transportation on the high-quality development of regional economy has not yet been reflected.In addition,the influence scale effect of air transportation in central China on the high-quality development of regional economy is greater than that in eastern China.This may be because the quality of economic development in central China is relatively weak,and the development of air transportation can significantly improve the quality of economic development.While air transportation in eastern China is relatively mature,and high-speed rail covers a wide range of areas,high-speed rail economy is also rising,and there are many factors affecting the quality of economic development.Relatively speaking,the impact scale effect of air transportation is relatively low.Finally,based on the above theoretical analysis and empirical research,this paper puts forward corresponding policy suggestions from the perspective of promoting the development of air transportation to promote the high-quality development of economy.
