| The history of road traffic in Hetao region during the Republic of China was carried out in the environment of domestic troubles and foreign invassions,saving the nation from subjugation and trying to survive.From 1925 to 1949,Hetao area,on the one hand,the constant handover of local political rights and frequent wars;On the other hand,with the increase of the inflow of population,the agricultural economy developed gradually,and towns of large and small size were formed gradually.As a result,the traditional means of transportation(animal rickshaw,camel transportation,etc.)are difficult to adapt to the actual military and people’s living needs because of their low efficiency and inconvenience.In this context,the road transportation in Hetao region has experienced a process of development from scratch.The article mainly consists of the following parts:The first chapter mainly studies the birth of Baoning highway,the first simple highway in the period of the Republic of China(1925-1936),the construction of Baowu highway and Du military road,and the transformation of highway maintenance and transportation from provincial to commercial.The second chapter mainly studies the gradual recovery,the short-term leap forward de ve lop me nt,the improvement of maintenance management mode and the difficult situation of transportation industry after the destruction of road transportation during the Anti Japanese War(1937-1945).The third chapter mainly studies the unbalanced development of road construction and the fast resume of transportation after the Anti Japanese War(1946-1949).The fourth chapter mainly studies the historical role and development characteristics of highway transportation in Hetao area.The history of road traffic in Hetao region during the Republic was characterized by politicized development,militarized construction and standardized management.While guaranteeing military affairs,facilitating transportation,boosting economy and promoting conceptual reform,it was also faced with the development dilemma of financial constraints,rampant disasters and frequent wars.As a part of public utilities,highway traffic plays an important role in social life.Because of this,the intervention of military and political rights runs through the development process of highway in Hetao region.Therefore,the research perspective of this paper is the relationship between political environment and public utilities.In fact,the development history of highway traffic in the Hetao region during the Republic of China period is also the history of constant replacement and intervention of military and political power,which is not only determined by the basic,leading,monopoly and public welfare characteristics of highway traffic cause,but also closely related to the control power of the government and its practical needs. |
