| With the economic growth slowing down,China has shifted from pursuing the speed of economic development to emphasizing the quality of economic development, marking the prelude of China’s economic development entering the new normal. As the main force of energy security in China,energy-based city’s energy industry development and urban economic development have a significant impact on the overall national economic. As an effective form of economic development in recent years, industrial agglomeration is conducive to optimizing the energy industrial structure of energy-oriented cities and promoting regional economic growth. Therefore, how to transform the resource endowment advantage into the economic development competitiveness of energy-based cities and realize the optimization and upgrading of energy industrial structure is a problem worth exploring. On the basis of studying a large number of domestic and foreign research documents on industrial agglomeration and economic growth, the author explore and analysis how to better integrate agglomeration and urban energy industry upgrading in the development process of China’s energy-based urban energy industry,so as to promote regional economic growth.Firstly, this article uses the absolute advantage theory, relative advantage theory, factor endowment theory, industrial location theory, competitive advantage theory, external economic theory, and industrial correlation theory related to industrial agglomeration,to analyze the relationship between energy industry agglomeration and regional economic growth.Based on the theoretical basis of industrial agglomeration, this paper summarizes the mechanism of energy industry agglomeration on regional economic growth, which provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent empirical analysis.Secondly, this article analyzes the energy industry development and economic development status of the country and energy-based cities from multiple aspects, and uses the Location Quotient Method and Herfindahl-Hirschman index to measure the degree of industrial agglomeration in energy-based cities.Thiredly, this paper establishes the regression model of the system GMM,selects the panel data of 32 energy-based cities in China from 2008 to 2018,and conducts empirical test and analysis.Through empirical research,it is found that the agglomeration of energy industries in China’s energy-based cities has a significant promotion effect on regional economic growth, but the promotion effect is weak. But the continuous improvement of the level of agglomeration has hindered the economic development of the region. Finally, this article combines the results of empirical research and analysis of the current situation, based on the industrial structure characteristics and differences in the agglomeration level of the energy industry of different types of energy-based cities, and focuses on how energy-based cities can optimize and upgrade their industrial structure to better release the city. The "resource bonus" of the People’s Republic of China proposed countermeasures and suggestions on how to improve the economic effect of energy industry agglomeration and promote urban economic development. |
