On The Design Of Homestay In Xiamen Island

As an experience-oriented tourism reception facility,homestay has become a hot sojourn facility with the wide spread of Internet information and the huge market benefits brought by the booming development of tourism.At the same time,homestay carries the local traditional culture and architectural vocabulary,has a great design potential,and has received a lot of attention and research in recent years.As a popular tourist city in China,Xiamen has a unique advantage of natural resources,as well as a long and diversified history and culture,which is very suitable for the birth and development of homestay,but there are also some shortcomings.This paper studies on the homestay in Xiamen island,hoping to make a contribution to the future development of homestay of Xiamen island as the aspect of architectural design.This paper applies diverse research methods including case analysis,diagram analysis and field investigation,etc.In the first chapter,the author tries to combine the origin,development and present situation of the homestay all over the world in order to conclude the research logic and research framework of the paper.The second chapter constructs the development network of Xiamen island homestay,analyzes the origin,context and trend,and explains the current situation,which lays the groundwork for the follow-up research.The third chapter is the summary of the essence of field research.It focuses on the characteristics of the three clusters of homestay on the island,and makes an in-depth analysis of its representative works,and puts forward the existing problems.The fourth chapter explores the design strategy of the island homestay,and puts forward opinions from the aspects of external environment,architectural image,functional space and characteristic atmosphere from the perspective of architectural design.The fifth chapter is the design practice,starting from different types of homestay,and the number is five,hoping to show the design strategy proposed in this study from multiple perspectives.
