Features Analysis Of Jiangxi Government Offices Gardens

Government office was the outcome of the reign of feudal emperors in China,and government office gardens had become a group of classical gardens with a wide range and rich cultural connotation under the influence of politics and economy.Since the Sui and Tang dynasties,Jiangxi has enjoyed political stability,economic prosperity and cultural prosperity.Up to now,some outstanding government office gardens or parts of the buildings are still preserved,such as "the first government office in southern area "--the ancient government office of Fuliang county;the birthplace of "peony pavilion" created by Tang Xianzu--the back garden of Nan’an government office;Lotus pond was built by Zhou Dunyi,the founder of neo-confucianism in the Song dynasty,which became the name card of every city.Based on the political,economic and cultural data of Jiangxi province,this paper constructed the overall landscape of Jiangxi government office gardens through literatures and ancient books,and summarized the development process of Jiangxi government office gardens and the characteristics of construction by analyzing the specific cases of local records and garden heritage,which provided a positive theoretical framework to the historical achievements of traditional garden construction and protection,restoration and reconstruction of historical and cultural sites in Jiangxi.The development of Jiangxi government office gardens could be divided into five stages: the generation period(the Sui and Tang dynasties),the early and prosperous period(the Song dynasties),the declining period(the Yuan dynasty),the Renaissance period(the Ming dynasty to the late Qing dynasty),and the transitional period(the late Qing to the modern period).During the Sui and Tang Dynasties,the political power of Jiangxi was concentrated.The region began to build government offices and gardens,represented by Fuzhou Jinni garden.During the Song dynasty,Jiangxi scholars came out in great numbers,brought new prosperity to the government office gardens,such as Fan Zhongyan、Zhou Dunyi、Yang Wanli,etc.The government gardens extending from flat land gardening to natural landscape,there are types of island gardens,pavilions,etc.represented by Yihuang country government,Gaoan country government,Nanchang east lake,Tengwang pavilion and so on.In the Jiangxi war and controversy in the Yuan Dynasty,the number of gardens in the government office plummeted,showing a state of decline.During the political and economic renaissance from the Ming Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty,the government offices gardens were mostly rebuilt and newly built.Ganzhou,Jingdezhen and other places developed rapidly,represented by Pi Garden,Weigenpu,Yuqi Factory,and Fuliang Office;the Thirteen Houses of Jiangxi pushed the development of the garden type to a climax;the artificial traces of the garden became heavier,and the techniques of stacking mountains and managing water were common.The internal landscape of the garden was even larger,represented by the Guangxin government,Ganzhou government,and Ji’an government.From the late Qing Dynasty to modern times,the gardens of the government offices no longer have the properties of government offices,leading to the disappearance of many government offices in the construction of the city.The complete or partial construction of the government offices became the business cards of various regions,and they transformed into public gardens.Ganzhou Park and Peony Pavilion park,the Ailian Pond,and the Dragon Ball Pavilion at the Yuyao Factory are represented.In terms of the characteristics of garden construction the Jiangxi government office can be divided into four categories: nursery garden,county,state park and pavilions.This paper synthetically analyzed site selection,plane layout,the structure and ideology culture and concluded that Jiangxi yamen garden had ritual,historic,blending,comprehensive,culture and public characteristics.Jiangxi government office garden not only contained Jiangxi’s regional style,ideology and culture,but also retained the characteristics of the government office garden’s construction.As a type that integrates politics,economy and culture,it had a rich historical significance.
