Study On The Impact Of Digital Economy Development On Urban Eco-Efficiency

China has entered the stage of high-quality development,but the national conditions of insufficient development imbalance show that China’s economic development is still facing the constraints of resources and environment.At the same time,China has set the goal of "double carbon" in 2020.Under the guidance of double goals,we must deal with the problem of coordinated development of economy,resources and environment.The meaning of ecological efficiency is consistent with the goal of coordinated development of the three,so as to achieve the highest economic output with minimum resource consumption and environmental impact.The development of China’s digital economy has spawned a variety of new modes and formats that are environment-friendly and resource-saving,and the development of digital economy will become the key support for improving ecological efficiency in the future.Under this background,it is of practical significance to study the influence of digital economy development on urban ecological efficiency and explore the existing problems,which is also the core of this paper.First of all,after literature review and theoretical analysis,based on the data of 275prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2020,this paper uses the super-efficiency SBM model to measure the ecological efficiency,uses the principal component analysis method to measure the development level of digital economy,and analyzes their regional development pattern and temporal and spatial evolution characteristics.Secondly,an empirical analysis is made.The two-way fixed effect model is used to verify the influence of digital economy development on ecological efficiency,and the spatial spillover effect of digital economy development is analyzed by using the Spatial Dobbin Model,and the mechanism of digital economy development on ecological efficiency is further tested by using the intermediary effect test method.Finally,the heterogeneity analysis and robustness test are carried out.The main results are as follows:(1)The development of digital economy has promoted the improvement of urban ecological efficiency;(2)Generally speaking,the development of digital economy has a significant positive spatial spillover effect on the improvement of ecological efficiency of neighboring cities;(3)The development of digital economy can promote the improvement of urban ecological efficiency by driving the upgrading of industrial structure and technological innovation;(4)The impact of the development of digital economy on urban ecological efficiency is heterogeneous in the eastern,central and western regions of China.The spatial spillover effect of digital economy is significantly positive in the eastern region,significantly negative in the western region,and fails to pass the significance test in the central region.Based on the above research conclusions,this paper puts forward suggestions from the following four aspects: optimizing the development environment of digital economy,accelerating the process of industrial digitalization,cultivating high-level digital talents and promoting regional linkage development.
