The traditional holiday New Year clothing of the Miao ethnic group in Guizhou is a unique artistic form,marking the development of history and the inheritance of culture.Miao costumes reflect the changes in local socio-economic,material production,and ethnic spirit.At present,there are few literature on the inheritance,integration and innovation of Miao traditional festival New Year clothing culture at home and abroad.Exploring the combination of clothing craftsmanship and modern decoration,clothing design elements and modern aesthetics,clothing style and modern design,and lacking innovative research on the inheritance and connotation of traditional Miao festival clothing culture.Therefore,this article chooses the topic of "Research on the Inheritance and Innovative Design of Guizhou Miao New Year Traditional Festival Clothing".This study uses a combination of on-site investigation and data collection to examine the domestic and foreign historical origins,ethnic culture,clothing design,and craftsmanship literature related to traditional Miao festivals in Guizhou.Deeply explore the structural characteristics of traditional Miao festival clothing,explore colors and patterns.Exploring the natural laws expressed in traditional Miao clothing from various aspects such as craftsmanship,and searching for the excellent ethnic spiritual values,cultural awareness,and ways of thinking contained in clothing,provides beneficial reference for the design innovation of today’s prosperous Miao traditional festival clothing.A case study was conducted on the innovative integration path of traditional Miao festival clothing culture in Guizhou,summarizing the application advantages and value of traditional clothing elements in modern design.Taking inspiration from the characteristics of Guizhou Miao New Year holiday clothing,integrating it into design practice,actively promoting the innovative development of Miao clothing,inheriting and promoting Miao culture,while preserving the original cultural heritage to make traditional Miao clothing more charming in modern design.
