As the global climate problem intensifies, countries around the world are taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the main purpose of which is to reduce or control carbon dioxide emissions, and China has proposed a double carbon target in 2020.The path to achieve the dual-carbon goal includes the transformation and upgrading of the industry to green high-quality development,so it is of great significance to reduce the carbon emission intensity of China on the premise of ensuring national energy security and economic and social development, promoting the synergistic agglomeration between industries, focusing on promoting the development of low-carbon industries, improving energy utilization efficiency, and increasing the development momentum of green and low-carbon industries. This paper takes the collaborative agglomeration of productive service industry and manufacturing industry as an example, and studies the spatial effect of the development of collaborative agglomeration on carbon emission intensity at the theoretical and empirical levels.Firstly, this paper sorts out the theories and related literature of industrial agglomeration, industrial collaborative agglomeration, and carbon emission intensity, and carefully analyzes the relationship between industrial collaborative agglomeration and environmental pollution, and constructs the influence path of the upgrading effect on carbon emission intensity produced by the collaborative agglomeration of productive service industry and manufacturing industry. Then, according to the statistical data obtained from 2003 to 2019,the synergistic agglomeration index and carbon emission intensity of the productive service industry and the manufacturing industry were calculated, and the trend and change characteristics were analyzed from the perspective of spatio-temporal evolution. The ESDA method was used to conduct spatial autocorrelation tests on the collaborative agglomeration index and carbon emission intensity of productive service industry and manufacturing industry, visualized and correlated the results, and empirically analyzed the spatial spillover effect of industrial synergistic agglomeration on carbon emission intensity after proving that it had spatial autocorrelation, and conducted robustness test. The research results show that:(1)From the perspective of spatio-temporal evolution, the overall level of collaborative agglomeration between the productive service industry and the manufacturing industry has not changed much, and the overall level in the eastern region is higher than that in the central and western regions.Due to the changes in industrial policies, industrial structure adjustment, industrial layout planning, and industrial transfer in the stage of China’s economic and social development, the fluctuation of regional industrial development is more obvious, and there are differences between provinces and years, and they continue to show a fluctuating trend.(2)From the perspective of spatio-temporal evolution, carbon emissions as a whole show an upward trend, the growth rate of carbon emissions has decreased significantly overall, and the intensity of carbon emissions has decreased year by year, but the downward trend has gradually slowed down. The severe and severe carbon emission zones are mainly distributed in the eastern region and some of the central and western regions with energy resource endowments, and the carbon emission intensity generally shows a spatial pattern of low in the east and high in the west.(3)Both the industrial synergy agglomeration index and the carbon emission intensity have passed the spatial autocorrelation test, and both have significant spatial autocorrelation. The global Moran index of the industrial synergy agglomeration index fluctuates more obviously, showing the distribution characteristics of "high-high agglomeration" in the central and western regions and "low-low agglomeration" in the eastern region, and there is a positive spatial spillover effect;the global Moran index of carbon emission intensity has a small change, which has a relatively stable spatial agglomeration trend, showing the distribution characteristics of "high-high agglomeration" in the western region and some central regions,"low-low agglomeration" in the eastern region and some central regions, and there is a positive spatial spillover effect.(4)In the empirical study of spatial metrology model, the collaborative agglomeration of productive service industry and manufacturing industry significantly inhibited China’s carbon emission intensity, and for other control variables, the regression coefficients of energy intensity, industrial structure and population size were positive, indicating that there was a significant positive promotion effect on carbon emission intensity;the regression coefficients of per capita gdp, urbanization level and technological innovation level were negative, indicating that there was negative inhibition effect on carbon emission intensity.Relevant policy recommendations were made based on the results of the study.
