Since 2022,the macro-economic situation has been complicated.The Russia-Ukraine conflict,the US dollar interest rate hike and other impacts in the world have led to a sharp rise in the prices of iron ore,coal and other raw materials and fuels;The serious decline in domestic real estate,insufficient effective operating rates in the manufacturing industry,shrinking demand for steel,and continuous decline in steel product prices.As of the end of 2022,the profitability of steel products has significantly declined,and most enterprises in the steel industry have started to lose money.Since the second half of 2022,the gross profit level of X Steel Company’s main steel products has always been near the breakeven point.In November and December,the gross profit of steel products even entered a loss state,and the contradiction between cost and benefit has become increasingly prominent.Survival and development are facing huge challenges,especially in bulk material procurement,production process indicator control,finished product sales,logistics management,technology management There is a gap in multiple aspects such as value chain linkage and collaboration compared to advanced enterprises in the industry,and it is urgent to obtain space for survival and development through targeted value chain optimization and enhancement.This article constructs a benchmarking management index system for X Steel Company from the perspective of the value chain,clarifying the benchmarking objects and improvement goals.Through benchmarking analysis,problems in the relevant links of the value chain are identified,and improvement strategies are proposed: centralized procurement,achieving cost reduction,efficiency increase,and risk control;Control of production process indicators based on hierarchical classification,promote effective improvement of economic and technical indicators,and reduce product costs and process processing fees;Increase efficiency through five dimensions of steel sales to maximize operational efficiency;The synergistic effect of value chain linkage has been exerted to improve management efficiency and promote the improvement of business effectiveness,effectively reducing enterprise operation and product costs,optimizing operation and management processes,enhancing product profitability,achieving the goal of dual improvement of enterprise efficiency and competitive advantage,enabling continuous lean management and maintaining a competitive advantage position in the steel industry competition.
