Research On The Design Of Modular Sports Footwear Based On The Concept Of Slow Fashion

In modern society,sports footwear has become a necessity for daily wear.However,the problems of overproduction and overconsumption have led to increased resource consumption and waste,causing significant negative environmental impacts.To address this issue,this article conducts a literature analysis of the concept of slow fashion and adopts modular design as the core method for sports shoe product design,with the aim of reducing the negative environmental impacts of sports shoe production and consumption.In the research process,the author first analyzed the application of modular design methods in commercially available sports footwear,clarifying their significance and advantages in sports shoe design,production,and consumption.Subsequently,user interviews and questionnaires were used to gain an in-depth understanding of users’ personalized and functional requirements for sports footwear.Combining the slow fashion emphasis on highquality,durable,and adaptable products,the design direction was determined.During the design practice stage,the combination of various modules achieved one shoe for multiple uses,personalized wearing,and better comfort.Furthermore,based on the flexibility of modular design,each module can be easily disassembled and combined,reducing the use of chemical glue and improving the maintainability and expandability of sports footwear.This approach aligns with the slow fashion emphasis on ethical considerations for production workers and quality emphasis,realizing more sustainable,flexible,and innovative designs and providing a new design direction for the sustainable development of sports footwear.
