Application Of Modular Textile Based On Patchwork Art In Fashion Design

Modular design has been gradually widely used in the environment of sustainable development,and then modular clothing arise.Among them,modular fabric is one of the methods of modular clothing design,which is similar to the patchwork art.Its design with a sense of order gives the viewers a strong visual comfort.Different fabric modules produce various design effects through different connection methods,which improve the efficiency of clothing production and development and save costs at the same time.Besides,the more participation and experience it gives consumers helps a lot in meeting diversified and personalized needs.Thus,modular fabric is an amazing way to extend the life cycle of clothing products.Modular textile is a changeable patchwork,its application in fashion design brings an aesthetic pleasure.Meanwhile,its sustainable concept is reflected in the development,production and use,and has certain aesthetic value and practical significance.Starting from the ancient art form "patchwork art",this paper expounds its concept and development,combined with past and present application cases of patchwork art,and analyzes the design method of patchwork art as a reference for modular fabrics.Regarding modular fabrics,this article is introduced from the original module,which in-depth expounds the related concepts of modularization and its application in various fields,thus triggering the thinking about modular clothing.Combined with the case of modern fashion design,modular clothing is divided into component modularization and fabric modularization according to the composition of unit modules in clothes,and the design characteristics of "universality,flexibility and diversity" of modular design method applied to clothing are summarized,and the advantages of "reducing development costs,improving resource waste,and extending service life" as well.This paper takes "modular fabrics" as the research focus,and firstly describes the development and apparel application of modular fabrics.Secondly,combined with the case,the three design elements of modular fabrics are analyzed in detail:module shape,module material,connection method,and then,the modular fabric and patchwork are compared and analyzed.Based on the above analysis,it is concluded that the modular fabric has the aesthetic value of order,balance and dynamic,and is also a green,rational and long-lived design method,which has certain practical significance.Finally,based on the previous research,analysis and summary,the graduation design takes"water" as the design inspiration,applies modular fabrics to clothing design,which conducts a lot of experiments on the shape,material,connection method and laser cutting process of the fabric module.This graduation design collection is trying to explore and strive to create infinite possibilities with limited modules.In this paper of modular fabrics,on theoretical aspect,the develop process of modular fabrics is clearly explained,and its design methods and ideas are summarized.For practical perspective,experiments are carried out based on the design elements of modular fabrics,which provide references for such designs in the future.
