The Innovative Application Of Dunhuang Caisson Pattern In New Chinese Style Women’s Dress Design

Caisson in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is a decorative pattern on the top of caves in t he center of Dunhuang Caves.It has a long history,a large number,gorgeous and exquisit e patterns and rich changes.It is an artistic treasure that attracts worldwide attention,and also a precious intangible cultural heritage of China.Despite the evolution of times and s ocial changes,the caisson patterns in Dunhuang still almost reached the realm of artisan meaning in the caves and innovation in the walls.From the Northern Dynasty,Sui Dynast y to Tang Dynasty and even from the Five Dynasties to the Yuan Dynasty,the "caisson" p atterns in Dunhuang were all varied and decorated with profound implications,bright col ors and exquisite techniques of expression,which fully embodied the charm of decorative art.It has high artistic value,cultural value and academic research value.In this paper,the caisson patterns of Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang are taken as the r esearch object,and on the basis of applying the image research method,comparative rese arch method,literature research method and field research method,the caisson patterns of Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang are studied deeply.First of all,Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 st udy the basic classification,composition form,color collocation and beauty of meaning o f the "caisson" pattern in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes from the Northern Dynasty,Sui Dyn asty to Tang Dynasty,Five Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty,so as to further analyze the aestheti c characteristics of the caisson pattern in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.This paper summari zes the color allegorical features of the composition of the Dunhuang caisson pattern in Mogao Grottoes to provide theoretical support for Dunhuang caisson pattern aesthetic des ign for the subsequent secondary innovative design.Secondly,the fourth chapter investig ates and analyzes the status quo of the use of caisson patterns by domestic and foreign de signers to find out the feasibility of the application of Dunhuang caisson patterns in new Chinese style women’s wear.Finally,the fifth chapter mainly focuses on the innovative pr actice of the caisson patterns in Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang in patterns and clothing.T he patterns are mainly based on the extraction of the caisson patterns in Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang and the application of modern methods.Decomposition,extraction,deconst ruction,reorganization,abstract variation,secondary design of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoe s caisson pattern and then applied it in the new Chinese style women’s wear;In the fashio n design process,French embroidery,hand embroidery and bead embroidery are combine d to apply the complicated and luxurious Dunhuang caisson patterns on the clothing.The lifelike pure hand embroidery makes the Dunhuang caisson patterns shining and vivid,so as to better inherit and show the beauty of Dunhuang caisson patterns.Secondly,the proc essing of some patterns uses the digital positioning printing technology.The digital printi ng has higher color saturation,higher printing precision,and fine and rich patterns,which is conducive to the highly restoration of the design and the production of a series of new Chinese women’s innovative design based on the Mogao Grottoes patterns in Dunhuang..Through the above research and practice,the caisson pattern of Dunhuang Mogao G rottoes can be better applied in the design of new Chinese style women’s wear,so as to re alize the combination of traditional culture and modern aesthetics,meet the needs of mod ern market,rejuvenate Dunhuang caisson,and realize the inheritance and promotion of in tangible cultural heritage Dunhuang caisson pattern artistic treasure.
