| High energy consumption and carbon emissions are fundamental problems that have long hindered the green and high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.In recent years,people’s awareness of ecological environment protection is increasing,and it is strongly required that the manufacturing industry should realize benign coupling with the ecological environment in the development process.How to promote the high efficiency emission of carbon in the process of manufacturing development,how to effectively reduce the low level of carbon emissions,how to coordinate the interactive relationship between carbon emission and ecological economy is the current practical problem to be solved in the process of manufacturing development.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the Yangtze River Delta area,which is an important growth pole of Chinese economy,the most active level of economic development and the highest degree of openness and innovation,to promote its high-quality green development and the benign coupling of carbon high-efficiency emission.To this end:Firstly,the background and significance of the research on the carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta region are expounded,and the research status at home and abroad is summarized to clarify the theoretical and practical basis of this research.Secondly,the development status of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta during 2014-2020,carbon dioxide emissions and carbon emission intensity during 2015-2019 were investigated to determine the carbon emission status of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta.Thirdly,the input-output index system of 28 manufacturing industries in the Yangtze River Delta during 2015-2019 was constructed,and the non-expected output SBM model was used to estimate the carbon emission efficiency of the manufacturing industries.On this basis,according to the carbon emission efficiency values of different industries,cluster analysis is used to divide the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta into three categories,so as to reveal the differences in carbon emission efficiency of different industries.Finally,Tobit model is used to comprehensively consider endowment structure,environmental regulation,industrial agglomeration,energy structure,carbon emission intensity and other related factors,so as to analyze the influencing factors of carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing industries in the Yangtze River Delta.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)According to the calculation of SBM model of non-expected output,there are significant differences in carbon emission efficiency among manufacturing industries in the Yangtze River Delta,and the overall efficiency value of the industry is basically maintained at about 0.5,indicating that there is still a large room for improvement in carbon emission efficiency.(2)Through the cluster analysis results,it can be found that the high-efficiency industry basically belongs to the industry with a higher level of technological innovation;Most of the medium and efficient industries belong to the traditional manufacturing industry,the development mode is relatively simple,and the innovation and research ability is limited.The low-efficiency industries are mainly labor-intensive industries with extensive and high-carbon development mode,high input and dependence on fossil energy,and low energy utilization rate.(3)Tobit regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors and it was found that,from the perspective of the manufacturing industry as a whole,the regression coefficients of environmental regulation,industrial agglomeration and carbon emission intensity were 0.828,0.156 and 0.301,respectively,and all passed the significance test,indicating that the improvement of environmental regulation,industrial agglomeration and carbon emission intensity.It has a positive effect on the carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta.The regression coefficients of endowment structure and energy structure did not pass the significance test,indicating that these two factors do not have a significant effect on the carbon emission efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta.(4)In terms of industry classification,in addition to the significant negative effect of endowment structure on high,medium and low efficiency industries,other indicators have different impacts on different industries,so it is necessary to take unique low-carbon emission reduction measures based on the differences of manufacturing industries.According to the above research conclusions,the following policy recommendations are put forward:(1)Control the proportion of coal resource consumption in the development of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta,and vigorously develop and utilize new clean energy and green energy;(2)Adjust the endowment structure of manufacturing resources utilization in the Yangtze River Delta and introduce the positive incentive of capital to promote technology;(3)Strengthen environmental regulation and formulate more perfect environmental regulations related rules and regulations;(4)Optimize and adjust the distribution and spatial layout of the manufacturing industry,and further enhance the concentration level of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta. |
