| Excellent traditional culture is the most precious treasure of a nation and a country,while cultural relics are a microcosm of traditional culture,reflecting the historical,artistic,and technological principles of the times,and carrying the great wisdom of the ancients.In recent years,multiple policies related to the inheritance and development of traditional culture have been released,and the development of technology in the new era has also given great attention to ancient Chinese technology and culture.However,there are still certain limitations in the current dissemination methods of traditional technology and culture.Starting from macro policies,taking traditional technology and culture,one of the important branches of traditional culture,as the starting point,considering the important position and historical significance of water transportation equipment in the history of science and technology,as well as the advantages of toys as a carrier,combined with the cultivation and attention to the core literacy of primary school students,the water transportation equipment and platform is the research theme,with school-age children as the research object,children’s toys as the carrier,and children’s cognitive psychology Based on theories such as children’s participation in design,this study aims to transform the theme toy design of water transportation equipment and platforms,expanding the scope and methods of dissemination of ancient technology.The research process of this project includes four stages: the selection of theme elements for the water transport instrument camera,the focus on toy design direction,the excavation of design requirements and the construction of design principles,and the verification of design practice.Considering the cognitive differences of children,throughout the entire research process,by analyzing multiple classification criteria,the target user’s school-age children were divided into two stages: low grade and middle to high grade.Based on this,subsequent research was conducted.The first stage of research is to better integrate the theme elements of the water transport equipment into toy design,so as to conform to the cognitive development laws of children.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the application of the theme elements of the water transport equipment in subsequent designs.Firstly,the methods of literature review,text analysis,and card classification are used to extract and classify the theme elements of the water transport equipment;Secondly,based on the cognitive level of children,corresponding analysis was conducted on the theme elements of the water transportation equipment and users at different stages,and the results were verified and adjusted using the child participation method;Finally,literature review is used to summarize the transformation methods of theme elements into three categories: concrete transformation,abstract transformation,and replication.The application of the transformation methods of theme elements is combined with the focus group of designers.The second stage of research on toy design focuses on the direction of toy design using a questionnaire survey method.Case analysis is conducted on the carrier to summarize and determine the toy characteristics and design elements that affect the age of use.In the third stage,based on the determination of the toy carrier,a user experience experiment is designed,combined with children’s participation,using a user journey map to analyze the opportunities and pain points of users in the toy use process,mining design requirements,and constructing design principles based on the summary of design requirements,sorting out implementation strategies.In the fourth stage,based on the above research conclusions,carry out the design practice of children’s toys with the theme of water transportation equipment and video platform.This article focuses on the design of children’s toys with the theme of water transportation equipment,exploring the complete path of ancient scientific and technological achievements from materials and objects to children’s toy design practice.It clarifies the process of matching the theme elements of water transportation equipment with children’s cognitive and analytical abilities,and analyzes the applicable water transportation equipment theme elements in children’s toys at different stages,We have determined to use modular toys as the design carrier,and based on design requirements,we have constructed five principles of safety,fun,age suitability,cultural diversity,and fault tolerance.We have applied the above research conclusions in design practice,and developed four school-age children’s modular toys with the theme of water transportation equipment platforms,namely,starting with orders,apprentice daily life,small mechanics,and small designers,Provide a reasonable path for the dissemination and transformation of traditional technological culture. |
