| Chinese traditional weaving and embroidery patterns are the historical witnesses of the evolution of traditional decorative arts.In the Song Dynasty,the main body of the patterns has changed from animal patterns to plant patterns.The pattern of twigs with flowers in the weaving and embroidery of the Song Dynasty has become a typical paradigm in the historical position of the past and the future.The unique pattern of its folded branches has created a magnificent view of the decorative patterns of the Song Dynasty.As a unique ’ branch ’ in the weaving and embroidery patterns of the Song Dynasty,the in-depth study of the pattern of twigs with flowers is helpful to understand the aesthetic thought of Chinese traditional decorative art,cultivate the aesthetic consciousness of Chinese traditional culture,and firmly carry forward the national cultural self-confidence and spiritual inheritance.This paper takes the pattern of twigs with flowers in the embroidery of the Song Dynasty as the research object.Based on the unearthed physical image data,using the research methods of literature research,field investigation and cross-study,this paper first traces the origin and concept definition of the pattern of twigs with flowers,and studies its longitudinal development history as a decorative pattern.Secondly,from the perspective of horizontal historical development,this paper analyzes the artistic characteristics of the pattern of twigs with flowers in the embroidery of the Song Dynasty,and then excavates the cultural implication behind it,and deduces the humanistic motivation of the prevalence of the pattern of twigs with flowers from the framework of history and folklore.Finally,the innovative design practice scheme of traditional embroidery patterns is put forward.The research shows that :(1)The pattern of twigs with flowers in the embroidery of the Song Dynasty was influenced by the flower-and-bird painting,absorbed and integrated the essential connotation of the ’ branch-folding ’ flower-and-bird painting landscape composition,borrowed the name of ’ branch-folding ’ and introduced it into the art of weaving and embroidery patterns.Then sort out the development context of patterns of twigs with flowers as a decorative pattern from the origin of Sui and Tang Dynasties to the prosperity of Song and Yuan Dynasties until the popularization of Ming and Qing Dynasties.(2)Collect and screen out 61 pieces of patterns of twigs with flowers in embroidery unearthed from tombs of the Song Dynasty,and 8related sites and tombs,such as Nanjing Changgan Temple underground palace site,Fujian Fuzhou Huangsheng tomb,Jiangxi De ’an Zhou ’s tomb,etc.,and find that the theme combination is rich and mostly presented in the form of combination,and the combination between flowers or the combination of auxiliary patterns enriches the expression of the theme.The colorful modeling of flower branches changes the decorative nature of traditional plant patterns in the past,and is presented in woven embroidery with a regular layout.In addition,the elegant and beautiful color matching and exquisite decorative skills radiate the meaning of folding branches and highlight the style of song rhyme.(3)From the social background and cultural framework,it is concluded that patterns of twigs with flowers in the weaving and embroidery products of the Song Dynasty not only has the elegant and interesting expression of folding flowers and lyrics,but also the conscious display of female virtuousness,reflecting the secularization of praying for auspicious mood and carrying the simple and subtle spirit of righteousness in the Song Dynasty.Under the indirect promotion of the three major background factors of politics,economy and thought,it was found that the popularity of the folding pattern in the Song Dynasty was directly affected by the three major factors of technological innovation,folding painting and cultural blending.(4)According to the investigation and analysis of the application status of traditional patterns of twigs with flowers,this paper summarizes the basic design application principles from the perspective of modern innovative design,grasps the design elements of folded branch patterns in Song Dynasty embroidery products to find innovative design approaches,and seeks the possibility of breakthroughs in traditional decorative patterns and modern innovative design through the innovative design of folded branch patterns and their application in the field of textiles and cultural and creative products.The historical evolution and artistic culture of patterns of twigs with flowers in the weaving and embroidery of the Song Dynasty are deeply explored,and the development trend of the historical inheritance and continuity of patterns of twigs with flowers is seen,and the relationship between the artistic aesthetic paradigm in the weaving and embroidery of the Song Dynasty and the social background of the Song Dynasty is analyzed,which is conducive to the construction and improvement of the research system of patterns of twigs with flowers in the traditional weaving and embroidery decoration art.The innovative design and application of the artistic elements and cultural symbols of the folded branch pattern,combined with the modern aesthetic trend and design concept,provide artistic enlightenment and thinking reference for modern design,and have profound research significance and research value. |
