Modern Chinese Study Furniture Design From The Perspective Of Design Typology

This research is based on the furniture project under the key project of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s key research and development plan,"Integration and Application Demonstration of Chinese Style Cultural Creative Intelligent Product Design Technology".Historically,Chinese style has had an important impact on aesthetics worldwide.In the field of furniture,Ming style furniture is the pinnacle of design and craftsmanship,and is considered to be the top three types of furniture in the world.Ming style furniture contains traditional Chinese aesthetic characteristics and conveys Chinese style.Under the background of New Era,continuing to inherit the design and research of Ming furniture is of great significance for reflecting on traditional Chinese creative ideas and connotations,enhancing the originality of modern furniture design,extending the aesthetic characteristics of Ming furniture to modern Chinese furniture design,and conveying Chinese style to China and the world.This research makes a comprehensive analysis of the types and characteristics of Ming study furniture through the desktop research,and selects the representative and typical design features of Ming study furniture as the research object,combining the study of modern Chinese study furniture of different designers and Chinese furniture brands,starting from the two dimensions of “Human” and “Object”,through the typology research method,this research analyzes the relationship between the design style expressed in the modern furniture design and the traditional Chinese furniture.At the human level,it studies the collective cognition and memory of Ming furniture;At the object level,it studies the design form and meaning conveyed by traditional Ming furniture,and combines the two to explore the inheritance of Chinese style of Ming-style furniture.In the course of the study,the typological method is used to analyze and summarize the design style of Chinese-style furniture,and the typical design element library of Ming-style furniture is constructed from the dimensions of plane(element),threedimensional(space)and structure(design).In order to guide the follow-up design practice of modern Chinese furniture.On the basis of the above design analysis and research,the application of Ming furniture style element library and typological methods,combined with the comprehensive needs of users and modern Chinese furniture design principles,as well as the evolution of furniture categories,space layout and lifestyle of Ming study to modern study rooms,design a set of Chinese-style study furniture that meets the needs of modern people.The design reflects the modern application of Ming-style furniture style,and provides new ideas and methods for modern Chinese furniture design;The design element library establishes a foundation for subsequent design research and application,and provides certain reference value for the inheritance of Chinese traditional culture and modern design.
